thats such a freaking difficult question. considering there hasnt even been a proper film starring Aang.
Would Korra be white? lol. /sigh. And Mako would be middle eastern.

If Rashida Jones were 16 years younger she would have been perfect.

I saw this pick/idea on another site, and wonder what you guys and girls thought of it? Maiara Walsh as Avatar Korra, she's 24, but still look young enough in my opinion to pass for 17.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off as too negative.
I just feel some franchises should not stretch themselves out too much. The Avatar franchise is in its infancy as compared to other more established ones like Harry Potter or Twilight. Granted, both those franchises had the backing of larger more financially powerful studios. Is Nick in that level yet? I really don't think so. But if they were to make a foray into the quality animation movie route, Legend of Korra would be the best way to get their foot in the door.

![]() Demi Lovato? Granted she's 20, but after costume design, make-up and all that, I can see her as Korra possibly.

I honestly don't even want a live action movie. Why retread the show, when they could just keep the story going with animated movies?

I don't think anyone wants a live action movie after the debacle that was TLA.

I'd want one. If it sucks, I can still decide not to watch it. Just like the first Movie. An Avatar movie would simply be great if done right.

Live action is pointless. Just make animated movies like they did for B:TAS.

As excited as I was for that movie, I still haven't been able to get past 5 minutes of it after I realized what an abomination it had become. Netflix likes to torture me with its image, since I've been re-watching the original series. Netflix seems to think that watching the original series correlates to me wanting to watch the train wreck that is TLA.

If they got everything right then a live action movie could be quite fantastic. But an animated movie can be just as awesome, and it would be cool to see something like that on the big screen.

Kasting Korra would make or break the movie. Sadly I am not too up and up on the current movers and shakers in Hollywood. I say look elsewhere other than the States. You have Asian characters, cast them from China, Korea and Japan. The guy who plays Storm Shadow in thw GI Joe movies proves an Asian actor can nail the role perfectly and appeal to both male and female fans. Korra will be a tough nut to crack. Her complexion is vague. Is she dark like Latin American dark, or tanned like Hawaiians or Polynesians? What kind of features woukd represebt her best? Also, unless the actress in question is willing to go through vigorous physical training to get a build as cut as Korra's I dont think she'll be well received.

I think an ethnic olive or darker skin tonned female with ambiguous ethnic features could fit the part, much like the cosplayers I've seen posted on here
![]() I'm on the fence too about a live-action film, but an animated film would probably be better received by critics and fans because it would be done by the actual creators, writers, and directors of the show, but would probably not be a box office success if they go that route. I think they should do a straight-to-dvd first and then maybe shoot for either a feature animated or live-action film.

Wasn't Mask of the Phantasm considered a companion piece to the first Burton Batman and was largely overlooked for bring a 'cartoon' only to be rediscovered as on of the best animated features of all time? I might be getting the years wrong though. I think MOTP was closer to Batman Returns.

So MOTP was a companion piece to Batman Returns? So you mean they were to take place in the same continuity or not? Didn't know that.

Mask of the Phantasm came out in 1993 and had no connection with either Burton films.

Aaah King. I think it'd be neat if they used an Avatar film to do some worldbuilding. Like the beginnings of the nations, the spirit world's presence in the real world etc. etc.

I think Aimee Carrero from Cartoon Network's Level Up, would make a good Korra in a live action Avatar: The Legend Of Korra movie.

I honestly don't see any reason to make a live-action movie.
