Ms. Marvel in the works?

Yeah, and nobody mentioned GotG at all until less than a year before it was announced. Point is, priorities change, and a big successful relaunch that reinvigorates and reinvents older characters plays into said change. We've seen it with Iron Man (Extremis), Thor (JMS), GotG (DnA).

What I imagine is a priority at Marvel Studios, for better or worse, is the introduction of another female Avenger besides BW to eventually join the MCU, especially with Joss Whedon overseeing much of Phase II. Out of the history of the Avengers, which female character would you think is most likely to do this? Probably Wasp, but besides her I do think Ms. Marvel is the most likely.

The problem with Wasp is she's still another supporting character, in terms of personality and powers. She can't stand up front with Iron Man and Thor and be one of the big guns.

That's why you need a Scarlet Witch (who's partially owned by Fox ) or Ms Marvel (whose new book by KSD is really great, and if sales keep up will inevitably lead to big things for the character)

I think, like Adam Warlock, she might be put off so that Doctor Strange can be introduced as Marvel's first mage. His sorcerer supreme title kind of rings hollow if you have a bunch of Witches and Warlocks running around before you introduce him.

Oh definitely, I'm just saying, that just because Fox owns the Magneto relation and apparently the universal term of mutant for the character, I definitely see her being a protege to Dr Strange, leaving her past a mystery, hopefully until a deal between Fox and MS is made or rights revert back.

But back to Ms Marvel

In any case I hope there's never a Ms. Marvel movie. I hope it's a Captain Marvel movie, with the title of Captain Marvel changing hands at the end (Kind of like the Godfather.) No reason to make Carol an adjunct.

In the end it all depends on Marvel's priorities.

It actually falls in line with casting for movies like Captain America, which had a younger unknown in the starring role, and a more experienced, seasoned actor in the villain role. The villain always has to be the better actor (save the Iron Man series, but in almost every other, it winds up that way.)

I like Liz Banks pick quite a lot but she's my new Sue Storm so I'm sticking with Strahovski for Ms. Marvel. And the more Majik protests, the more I know she's the right call.
