But doesn't Berenice sound rather French? Can she adopt a non-French accent?

Meh, we'll wait and see. For me she looks too soft, and I'm assuming she has a heavy accent.

I don't know if I can put it in better words than you.
But everything you say is true. One example: Hawkman can't exist in the same world as Wonder Woman. If he did, the amazons would not have gotten to live on an island of their own. Katar Hol in ancient Egypt predates greek mythology, doesn't it? And the stories of olympian gods would have been quite different if some alien cop came to earth before any existing greek empire.
I have also a hard time seeing how Green Arrow and the villain Doomsday can co-exist. It just doesn't make sense.
Yet all the heroes and villains meet all the time.

Maybe you just have a sucky imagination.

Like I'm not even a Hawkman fan, but I can definitely see him in the same world as Wonder Woman; same for Green Arrow and Darkseid coexisting.

Lmfao Emily Blunt

Bridget Regan IS Wonder Woman, she has actually done fighting roles close to that of WW and we've seen her convey the confidence, fierceness, and compassion in Legend of the Seeker in which she got critical acclaim from everyone. **** Blunt.

Also how many times do I have to repeat this about Lynn Collins? Right now she would make a fine WW. But DC/WB stupidly won't go forward until they make a JL movie in 2015. From there it would take 2-3 years to make a WW movie, making Collins 40.

Lynn Collins fans and reality are not well acquainted. Wadaya gonna do?

Regan is a c-list actress who is best know for guest spots on tv procedurals and a syndicated fantasy show. Plus shes ridiculously pale, assuming looks matter to you. Almost as ridiculous as Lynn Collins, but for different reasons. WB will either cast an A-list actress like Blunt or a young, relative unknown.

Blunt is an A-list actress who has proven she can carry a film. At least pick someone of equal stature, and who doesnt look like Carrot Top's semi-attractive cousin. Try and separate your personal fantasies from the equation. There are plenty of tv actresses that I personally like, but Im realistic enough to know they arent movie stars. Different animals. Save it for the fan fiction.

And the fact that some actress has done fighting scenes in the past is utterly irrelevant from a casting perspective. I really don't need to explain why, so I wont.

Next topic: I think its been established that disparate characters can indeed co-exist in a cinematic universe. And backstories can and will be changed pretty drastically if necessary. Imagination is not required to see this now-obvious point.

So Chris Evans was a list before Captain America? Hemsworth before Thor? Its okay to take chances on people, so long as you do your research.

Also Blunt isn't projected to be A-List until the end of 2012, so hold your horses on that. Although she has done good work and has won prestigious awards, she's good, maybe even the best actress available that fits the physical description minus some meat.

Also lol, pale means nothing, that's what tans are for.

Diana Prince doesnt need an actress who is the most charismatic woman on earth or an oscar worthy performance. She just needs to play it tough, compassionate and all she has to be is 'solid'. My mind doesnt need to be blown by her acting but i also dont want her to suck either. All looks/toughness but crap acting? No thanks. She also needs to be very likeable.

Gina Carano is not very likeable to me. At least from what ive seen. She has the look/toughness but im not sold. I mean, she's better looking than most female fighters but that's what she does best...fighting. Most of us dont like the idea of her but i can see WB trying to snatch her up. I hope they dont.

Then you have Jessica Biel. Look, popularity, but i get a dull feeling from her. Yeah she would be solid and nothing more, and that could be OK for WW. But there are many other choices to pick from.

Dont know if there are Lynn Collins haters around here, but ive seen a couple of things, she's not that great but she seems solid to me. I guess Hayley Atwell would give a much better performance but i have no faith in WB for casting her. So im gonna go with Collins for now.

She has the look, she's in shape, not a terrible actress (from what ive seen: so give me examples if u think otherwise), she's done roles that are similar. Only thing going against her is her age.

Unfortunately, in Hollywood age counts for a lot. If Collins were ten years younger, I think this debate would be over.

Yeah, I'm not even against Lynn Collins and I agree with you. I think she's a decent candidate, but hardly the "best in all aspects," and hardly better than Blunt.

i see where people against blunt are coming from when you compare it to bale and cavill for example

bale was a #1 fan choice and just off american psycho you could tell he was perfect for bruce wayne in every way

and cavill just looks and feels like clark just off images and interviews lol

Read the most recent JL where WW just goes off on GL restraining her and then going after the rest of the guys. Johns kind of paints her as kind of a loose cannon compared to everyone else on the team. Not the best look for her, but hey.

Age is one Collins' side for Hippolyta; I find Hippolyta is a good role for actresses who are past/close to passing their prime for WW.

Plus Collins looks like a more weathered actress to me.

Bale is a great example of hiring an actor based on talent and intensity and screen presence within a certain age range. His fighting skills, action cred, physical resemblance to the comic book Bruce wayne, were all utterly irrelevant. All that mattered to Nolan and WB were his ablility to act and carry a huge tentpole Batman movie.

Whomever they choose will have the same credentials as Bale. Or they will be a young, up and coming , but relatively unknown actress. My guess is, given the much riskier nature of a Wonder Woman movie, and given the fact that she won't have the benefit of having an extended all-star ensemble, they will do the smart thing and hire a (relatively) proven quantity. Hence, Emily Blunt. Regal, supremely talented, a knack for drama and comedy, loved by men and women alike, hot in a non-generic way, young, with an excellent track record. Shes a movie star.

The fact that she doesnt know Kung Fu, that shes never dressed like Xena, that she doesnt look like the generic drawings from the comics, is a GOOD THING. Its called make believe, and shes really really good at it.

As far as Hypolita goes, there are much better options. Tons of them. Hollywood is filled with beautiful, talented, award-winning actresses in their late thirties early forties. Off the top of my head: rachel weisz, diane lane, charlize theron, jennifer connelly, robin wright. Again, movie stars. Not aging tv actresses (several of those actually look younger than Collins). And if you want an older Hypolita, there are even more options.

Casting an unproven, hugely expensive action-adventure tentpole movie with (relatively) unknown tv actors = DEATH , i.e. John Carter. Casting as your lead a woman who's only major role in ANY movie actually was John Carter = slow and painful DEATH. (Btw, mentioning Wolverine only hurts your case.)

I'd never guess Collins is the older one just by looking at them. Blunt looks (to me) like she could be somebody's mother. I mean that in the most flattering way. She doesn't look old; just mature and motherly and wise. Perfect for Hippolyta IMO.

Well, if we use that criteria, neither actress qualifies.

Fair enough. But I don't look for weathered-mess in a Hippolyta candidate.

Also: if a TV actress is more right for the part than a movie star, I'd want them to go with the TV actress.

Lol okay I give up. Im not really worried that WB would be foolish enough to hire someone of Lynn Collins er "stature", so I'll revisit this once there is actual news vis a vis a Wonder Woman movie.

Off-topic: Anyone who hasn't read the new run of the WW comic should really check it out. It really opened my eyes as to what a good WW movie could look like.

thats what i love about a blunt or an atwell WW should be exactly that a woman she should look grown up and mature just like bale and cavill do for supes and batman even reynolds for GL

last thing we want is an actress who looks like a young girl

I'd say she certainly looks the part. i love the sound of her voice as well. it'll be interesting to see how good of an actress she is.

as far as the accent, i don't and the accent at all. in fact I'd prefer it if she had a greek accent, just as long as she doesn't sound like arianna huffington.
