As far as I could tell, she wasn't piloting on the way to Germany, another SHIELD agent was piloting. She was just 'manning the guns' (like she was in NY)

I went and saw it this afternoon at one of our theaters that put it back for this next week. It was PACKED!!! Maybe not *quite* sold out but darn near close, and there were people that came after the trailers began and were pretty shocked that they were having a hard time finding seats (don't think they expected so many people to show up)

Did anyone see the film in Threaters this weekend...other then them making Coulson death less dramatic ( I dont understand why I hate when they change films ) , what was it worth staying after the credits?

Sounds as if the rumors of them taking out the spear through the chest are turning out to be true.

As far as I could tell, the print I saw was identical to when I saw it the previous 6 times. Nothing appears to have been changed for this holiday theater expansion (which is consistant with what AgentM tweeted the other day). The spear tip through Coulson's chest was very much present.

To Matt Mortem: The concern is mainly with the blu-ray/dvd releases since it appears that (for at least some European countries, since I think the Blu-Ray rip that showed up on torrent sites was from France?) the spear tip was removed from Coulson's chest when Loki stabs him. It's unknown yet whether that 'alteration' will also be on the North American release of the blu-ray/dvd.

Yeah, if you follow his blog, he's always quite self deprecating about his own work. It can be a little wanky but to be honest, i prefer that to the Aaron Sorkin school of self congratulation.

Well I do agree that while it was a great movie, I don't think it was a perfect film. I do think that with any great work, there's always room for improvement, but that's not to take away the success and the achievement that the film was and has received.

I don't think the 'perfect' film exists anyway. The idea of 'one film to rule them all' is just ludicrous.

Watched it last night, everything seemed the same to me. The spear was still sharp as well, and nothing new after the credits.

That is true, course if only some people would recognize that, it would save all of us the burden of seeing flame wars because of how some are unable to see otherwise.

That's good to hear they didn't change anything. Looks more like the spear tip in Coulson's chest was taken out on the Blu-ray/DVD releases in other countries that have far stricter violence depiction laws.

At the version shown at my school the spearhead wasn't there, but when they started the movie the filename at the bottom read, "BRrip.China.blahblahblah," so I suppose the US BD/DVD copies should be okay if it's limited to China/select foreign countries.

Spearhead is there on the french DVD/BR commercial prints but was missing from the commercial samples we got prior to the official release. Weird.

But as far as the general public are concerned, it's perhaps the best thing he's done that they've seen. Much of his work is quite niche and can go under the radar if you're not into that genre. Buffy was probably the biggest one before while the rest (Firefly, Dollhouse etc) aren't quite as known. Nearly everyone has seen The Avengers on the other hand.
