True, Deathly Hallows did have a 72% drop and Captain America while it had a $65 mil opening it needed to do better given its budget. The studios avoided TDKR's second weekend with blockbuster type films. I think given the weak performance First Class did box office wise, Fox would want to ensure it had the best window and now WB has taken that away.

ROTK actually opened on a Wednesday so it made $165 million in its first five days (adjusted for inflation).

Oh for sure, things won't be set until spring 2014.

The Hobbit 3 and Days of Future Past along with How To Train Your Dragon 2 are the only films with either production started or has a firm start date while the rest are still working on a scripts and have no firm start date. So yeah Apes and X-Men could switch dates because of production delays. WB has probably has 3 other films to slot and that will shift things around.

Not sure about that. Marvel/Disney/Sony generally keep their films at least 2 weeks apart. After all, they're all still Marvel.

Not sure if Fox can put X-Men a week before GotG.

I hope FOX changes the release date and give the film an earlier release date. If they will face The Hobbit 3, I'm pretty sure that will affect the movie's 1st weekend performance and the X-Men movies usually don't have strong legs at the box-office. And it might perform lesser than X-Men: First Class.

WB's been slotting their top films of their summer lineup for the past few years on that weekend so why wouldn't they put it there? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter 6, Inception, Harry Potter 8 and The Dark Knight Rises.

WB has these films in production, pre-production or revising the script.

Godzilla
Dumb and Dumber Too
New Vacation

Or a film from this list could end up in their summer lineup

Horrible Bosses 2
Police Academy reboot
Revenge of the Titans
Sherlock Holmes 3
low budget horror film

Dumb and Dumber Too - May 9
Magic Mike 2 - May 30
Mad Max - June 13

If they can get those films out, while they are all reboots or sequels, that's a pretty good lineup box office wise.

I could see Captain America pushed to August with Disney having a potentially strong first half of 2014 and nothing scheduled past August.

Release The Incredibles in 3D for the fall for their 10th anniversary and have GotG out in November 2014 and Aladdin 3D in December 2014.
The Avengers 2 in May 2015 six months later.

So that could box X-Men into June.

Holmes has been a Winter movie (I know Hobbit moved to Summer), but I think it would stay here. Are you sure on titles for Titans and Dumb and Dumber? Police Academy seems like an August release (I know its Summer), outside of May-July or an April/October release. Wouldn't Fury Road have a 2013 release?

In The wolverine forum there Is leaked set pic that suggests they are building Jean Grey School for gifted youngersters hinting at a final answer to contunity question

The Last Stand may be Intended to mostly remain In contunity with some elements reconned(the opening scene,Moira,Xavier waking up In other body)

The Wolverine will be set It appears at least partly after the events of The Last Stand.

This could mean Patrick stewert defently won't be In Days of future past.It could mean Magneto and possibly Wolverine are only characters to bridge both timeframes Inless Mystique Is also In future.

If X1-X3, FC, and DOFP are one timeline, and the alternate future is a timeline different from it, then Xavier could still show up, and he could still show up if the alternate future is post-X3 (and therefore post-X1 and X2) since his waking up in his twin's body would have no bearing on the FC and DOFP timeline.

Fury Road could be a November 2013 release, not sure though that WB would want to release it between Thor 2 and Hunger Games 2 maybe as a late October film.
I could see Gravity finally slated for November 2013. Plus The Great Gatsby needs to find a date for 'summer' 2013 so the '300' sequel could get pushed back to 2014.

Sherlock Holmes 3 would likely be a Christmas 2014 release but if for whatever reason their other summer films need reshoots or they're not satisfied with the script it could be bumped up.

Jupiter Ascending could be summer 2014 or find a spot in March or April 2014.

Dumb and Dumber Too - In articles I've read that's what they've used. Could just be a working title.

Titans sequel - that was just listed on Wikipedia, it could change, though a script has been in development since last year.

Fox also has to shore up their summer release schedule and would likely have the Jack Bauer/24 film, a comedy and maybe distributing Star Wars: A New Hope 3D.

heres my thoughts...

The year is 2012 - (alternate future) - a prison camp - bishop (an old mutant) is captured and thrown into a cell. He meets another captured mutant (Sir Ian McKellan's Magneto) he has a collar round his neck stopping him from using his powers. Magneto realises that bishop managed to trick the guards with his mutant ability and so he still has his powers. Magneto tells Bishop that this future can be changed. Magneto helps bishop escape and they head to the old Xavier School For The Gifted. its a building site, but we see light coming from the woods. There in a bunker is a dying (patrick stewart's Charles Xavier) Charles explains that this future occured when JFK survived an assasination attempt by a mutant that was captured. This kickstarted the sentienal programe. In order for this bleak future not to happen, there is hope. Xavier with the help of magneto is able to transport the mind of bishop back in time to his younger self during the 60's just before the kennedy assisination,

The rest has you discover that Magneto is the mutant that is discovered to be the mutant that tried to kill JFK and gets caught.

We include JFK's personal mutant squad that tries to stop Eric and his group - plus we have the x-men. essentially JFK's mutant squad is built up of characters like Blockbuster, Harpoon - yeah maybe the maurders

I wonder who the studio is going to recast as Kitty Pryde? In a perfect world, they would be able to bring back Ellen Page, but, I doubt it is going to happen.

I guess it depends if they keep Kitty in the story. But her phasing power (and its disruption of electronic systems) would prove useful against Sentinels.

I hope they would keep her in the story, as it would be a great way to expand the role of the character, but, to also keep true to the source material. But, I have faith in Vaughan and Singer.

Kitty could travel back in time phisically, its sci-fi, so it would be the perfect solution. If not her, I preffer a new mutant from the future, like Bishop or somelse.

See I love the idea of mind-time-travelling however if we were to have Kitty in an alternate future get sent back to the 60s it could have some good comedic value. She can be all what's up with the 60s this is waq! But it could be too Terminator-esq whereas the mind travelling is a cool mutant power concept...

I think Kitty is the best option because that would mean a female on the x-men side too.

would be perfect for me. A more faithful adaptation and a x-girl on the team.

I really want Kitty for two reasons, number one because the character is a favorite of mine and number two because to me she defines the Days of Future Past story the most of all characters in it.

But I do realize that it's more likely that a character already introduced in First Class is gonna be the time-traveling vessel.

A re-cast wouldn't be any problem, but personally I would love to see Ellen Page back. I really like her in general and she did fine with what extremely little she got to play with in Last Stand.
