Ahh! the art of Avengers version with exposed ears looks awesome!!!
What does the caption read, what was their reasoning for covering them? I'm sorry, but Cap doesn't need ear protection if Widow and Hawkeye don't

I really like the exposed ears. I think having those covers for the ears is what made the cowl look a little off in the Avengers.

And the ears really improve the helmet/cowl look in that Art of Avengers pic. If they'd go with that, and put the damn star and stripes on his back to eliminate that big field of blue it'd look just right imo.

I for one would like having the ears exposed but for some reason the avengers art book style doesn't do it for me. That 3/4 profile just looks off. Probably cause I'm used to the wings jutting out too. But since we're not getting those theyll have to come up with an unexposed ear solution that works. If I get time Ill manip one together using what I have

I wonder why Whedon didn't like the open ears. Guess he thought it looked too weird to just have the ears out surrounded by the blue plastic.

I agree with this.. sort of. I loved the costume in the avengers. But he needs the exposed ears! That looks great in those concept pictures!

Despite just exposing the ears and putting in the shield, I'd think this would be runaway hit for CA and CBM fans.

I don't like the design because IMHO it's too overcomplicated. I don't care for all the straps. Also the chin strap. He's NOT a football player!

I agree.....It only in the Ultimate Comics that his uniform got a redesign. The 616 Cap always had the same WWII togs in the modern day. |

Ok, I'll sign off on this. You're good to go Russo's.

I dig his costume in CA:TFA. They should bring it back, with a more modern look.

As a fan of TFA suit for Cap, I think the main problem with the Avengers version were the fabrics, the semi-plastic that they used for the helmet. The design itself isn't bad, is just that there's something about the helmet and the rest of the suit that just doesn't fit.
TFA had the advantage of the time period, it looked absolutely perfect as a militar/soldier costume type mixed with a regular superhero costume. They need to integrate some of that for future versions of the suit, keep improving it like they're doing with Thor. |

As many of you i don't have a lot of problems with TA suit.
The super soldier suit doesn't work for me, it's to much SHIELD, just not Cap. With a few minor changes TA suit could go a long time. Loose the zippers, change the colour of the pouches, add more white on the arms, add star/stripes on the back (to make the suit look a little less blue), maybe use the fabric from The Amazing Spiderman for the somewhat scaly look (although it would make the suit much tighter), change the cowl, use the square A on the cowl, change the "stripes" on the shoulder to actual captain emblems or stars, loosen the pants (more army look like US Agent in Omega Flight) ![]()

I think the biggest problem with the TA suit was that it was too slimming. In TFA the suit was bulkier, thus the appeal. Just take a look at all the concept art for TA and Cap's proportions, he's drawn a lot bulkier than what Evans actually is.
The TA suit would've worked better had they added some padding around the chest, shoulders, and thighs. The bigger body proportions would've taken emphasis off the head, which seemed a tad big with the earpieces in place. |

Looks amazing. I'd be really happy if we got something like this.

I'm not a big fan of either of the head pieces so far.
But both body suits have looked fantastic, imo

I tend to agree with that. I think the Avengers bodysuit should be kept, with the helmet having some slight variation towards the promo art we've seen. It should evoke a simple protective helmet, and not a cowl, so to speak, though some non-blue piping connecting the helmet to the suit may be possible.
