hmmm...So the premise just MIGHT be that Clark wanders the world to find himself, and ZOD shows up/escapes whatever...and brings chaos to earth, and now Clark has to do something about it.

That would explain the whole Govt doesn't trust the alien thing.

I don't see the point in a physically vulnerable Superman. It's always going to be relative, anyway, and for the most part the root of his undoing is psychological rather than physical. I understand that movies need to introduce a degree of threat into fist fights, but I'm not sure that can be satisfactorily achieved with a demi-god like Superman. It's better, in my opinion, just to create another reason for his defeat. It doesn't need to be Kryptonite; it can be fear for the people he loves or an overly rigid sense of duty.

I feel that way about most high powered superheroes but sadly nowdays "depowering" is the cool thing.

It also comes down to the threat he is up against. Superman can still be Superman in every sense of the word. For example using all of his powers and they aren't making sufficient inroads, ala against Doomsday or Parasite absorbing attacks.

Well the poster is certainly evocative, if a little odd. I wish it wasn't so digitized, though. The abs also look a bit funky...although the upper half of the suit looks fantastic! I wish he had the spit curl, though.

And it's pretty hilarious that this is the second official MOS image that hides the crotch area. Are they afraid of the media lambasting the costume for lack of trunks? Or does the design team understand that the solid blue body is a bit monotonous (the gold belt isn't as pronounced as the design needs to be).

The execution sucks but I like the concept. It will have people intrigued, wondering why Supes is in this situation. I loved that it's not a lame overly posed image. I do want one but later... like way later.
