![]() Yes, so glad that Fox will run X-Men into the ground so that when Marvel gets the rights back (something that will never happen, btw), they will have a dead franchise that nobody wants to see. And X-Men can collect dust with Punisher and Blade.

are you really glad about that?
did i not lay the sarcasm on thick enough? I thought it was pretty obviously sarcasm. Why would anyone be excited about a ruined film franchise? ever?

Why would anyone who feels a franchise is ruined be posting in the forum of that ruined franchise? Clearly they have something better to do.

Maybe it was sarcasm, but considering how things have been on this forum for the last few months, with everyone hating everything that ISN'T connected to the MCU, how would I know what is sarcasm and what is serious?

Well I guess Tom Rothman leaving Fox Isn't doing anything to stop these attacks on
non Marvel studios Marvel projects.By the way did anyone else notice on release when the composer announcer Kevin Feige was listed as a producer. If right that would be first X-Men film since last Stand someone from marvel was listed as producer on X-Men films. Now this is first time we got a pic so early for a X-men film so consider that. |

There's a huge part of me that loves Jackman and a huge part of me that blames him for many of the poor decisions made regarding Wolverine's portrayal.

I saw this picture today and had totally forgotten another Wolverine movie was in the works. I guess I had wiped it from my mind.
I'm not enthusiastic about this film because I feel they've been focusing on Wolverine TOO MUCH. Will it be neat to see that part of his life on film... I guess so. Guess it's just one of those things I will just see when it comes out and have no expectations going into it.

The positive thing to come out of this is that it should encourage Fox and Sony to respect the comics as much as possible and not stray too far from the original characterisations. The X-Men franchise has huge advantages - Magneto is probably Marvel's top villain (with a lot more depth and relatable appeal than Loki, Red Skull, Thanos); the X-Men comics have a vast mythos of amazing, colourful, diverse characters and great stories, that span time and space; the stories have deep underlying themes. All that should be used to great effect, and celebrated.

Fans have problems with every film. People accept changes in The X-Men too its just that Marvel hasnt ****ed up on the level of Fox yet with X3 and XMOW choices. Theres a difference between minor changes and significant. FC was different yet many enjoy it and prefer it ahead of the other X Films. Ive seen X Men fans bash Marvel as well. Both studios are currently making good films so its a win win.

I think it looks totally bad ass. Although obviously this is very familiar territory at this point after 12 years.
At some point, Hugh (as much as I love him) will need to pass the mantle on to someone new to "freshen up" the excitement again. But the photo is awesome.

I was just about to say, it's a disgrace he has let himself go so much in between films. I say the whole film should be scrubbed until Hugh Jackman can get into shape.

In all reality he may be gettin leaner compared to the last film because martial arts fighters are more in this shape than the bulkier look and size he had in the last film, where he was much much bigger.

Like the photo, hopefully it's nothing like the last one. For me, the only time Jackman ever really felt like Wolverine was in the first X-Men movie. Even then they started softening him a little toward the end.
I wish he was as buff as Aronofsky wanted him to be. That would've been amazing. He'd already gained more weight than he'd ever had before, thanks to the Rock's nutrition and training advice. At that years Oscars he was actually looking a bit stocky. I was excited. Then Aranofsky left, production schedule went into limbo and having no date to aim for, Jackman understandably lost the weight, rather than keeping up the diet for an indefinate period of time. Unfortunately, when Mangold was hired, he obviously didn't want to gain the weight and Mangold apparently didn't insist on it. So now we've got what we've got. Real shame. Still looks ripped though, if a little skinny. And I'm coming around to the short hair. |

Awesome photo, but I seem to remember the first one for Origins looked great as well, and then the film wasnt so not getting my hopes up. Although I do like Mangold as a director.

![]() I'm thinking he might have been a bit bigger in origins as well despite wanting to be bigger for this film. Here's his quote actually from when darren was still attached: Quote:

Ya hugh is not bulked at all whasoever in that pic, if anything he just leaned down even more and cut weight. He typically stays very fit even between films, so this is not an addition of size at all.

This site thinks he used something called "water manipulation" - I like this part: "NOTE: You already have to be lean and sport a bodyfat in the 6%-8% percent range to successfully use fluid manipulation techniques. Jackman is notorious for keeping himself lean year round. So if you’re a fat bastard in the 20%-30% range, don’t even think about it, get on the treadmill!"

Apart from the beard, Hugh reminds me very much of Cockrum's pre-X-men Logan in the latest picture.
