Well that middle image would have been cool, but the way Joss was going on about costs with Hulk and the Aliens and the CGI, I can see why it wasn't done that way. Tho Thor's pose is freaking cool!
I hope they used more poses from a distance like that in Dark World.

Well, most of those art-concepts couldn't have been properly adapted to the big screen, since those are widescreen.
On the other hand, is very difficult to replicate the feel of a drawing into a motion picture.
Watchmen is the closest I can think of, that it looks a lot like those type of concept arts.

I meant the audience. Some scenes just fit with joined laughter. The Loki scene, for example.

One of my favorite Loki moments was when he caught Hawkeye's arrow, looked back like, "*****, please," only to have it explode in his face. That whole sequence -- the exploding arrow, Loki's confrontation with the Hulk, Hulk smash/ragdoll Loki -- was some of the funniest physical comedy I've ever seen in any movie. Whedon pulled off the tricky maneuver of making The Avengers absolutely hilarious without the humor being so over-the-top that it became ridiculous.

Looking at that concept art it's safe to say heroes with flashy powers like Thor will always get toned down in ensemble films.

I'm fairly certain that we'll see Thor do FAR cooler things in Thor: TDW than he did in The Avengers.

Well, Hulk & Iron Man still got to do plenty of flashy stuff. I hope we see more of Thor's powers in conjunction with the team in Avengers 2. Just seeing IM & Thor in the sky at the same time is very cool!

But agreed I think they'll really let him loose in Thor: TDW.

Those are damn cool.

Joss did talk about that Loki scene in the commentary when Bruce said you can smell crazy on Loki. I think he said it was definitely a budget issue why it was cut.

I'd guess they trimmed the Cap fight for the same reason. They spent money wisely from what I've seen but they had to keep it under control I would guess.

Wow, awesome pre-viz's, really wish the forest fight had played out exactly as the pre-viz, seeing Cap get more involved in the fight and I like how at the end of the fight Thor is really man handling IM, showing that though IM got a lot of hits in the fight Thor was holding back until he got pissed off.
