I just don't buy the "bidding to see the max bid" thing. The max bid is irrelevant as its the current bid that wins the auction. Why bid on something for fun to see what someone else is willing to pay? What if you end up winning the auction? Also it's misleading to the seller.

Here's my attempt from the New York Comic Con. I basically ended up looking like a thicker Rdmaul in the older set of gear.



I think it turned out okay on weathering but ultimately I will just redo the vest weathering after I wash it out and get an air brush tank. Bluray for The Dark Knight Rises comes out this December supposedly. I got lazy on the boots but I'll slowly just refix it up with a better set of cheap packer boots and head in for PAX East.

SOO MUCH DRAMAMAMAMA ITS JUST a mask (ganged, its the pretties mask out there as of now) everyone is entitled to their own opinion. so what if he (TRain or watevs his nombre is) wants to sell it. He did pay 2gs for it i think its safe to say that he owns it now. and hey, i comletely understand that one may feel ripped off if he bought one from you and sold it for trippl or waters. I completely get it. I also get that the original artist feels being cheated of their work. Ive dealt with that too- on a much smaller scale though- a much smaller scale. Hey its just life. ***** happens. keep calm and bane on (I should trademark that term)

I got a dark green based Jbrown mask actually but decided to redo it into a tealish blue with the smooth on. So I did that...

Base: used a mix of gold/green and black to deepen the color.
Metal areas: straight up chrome/silver, then used black w/some water dilution.

I used a brush and some tissue/paper towels to smudge up parts. A lot of the darker edgier parts were done with this in diluted black acrylic, where I brushed the griddy areas and gently wiped off the highest contoured surface areas leaving more black in the cracks.

edit: Oh yeah, and the dull coat lacquer is the deal breaker to give it the right look. Otherwise it'd be all shiny like the first pic I posted earlier.
If you want an affordable mask, the best paintable mask is probably Jbrown's. The other sculpts, IMO, are a tad off. Best to paint it like how some of us did.

Don't know the girl, people told me she does porn but w/e! We found each other like three times on the floor and just took more pics cuz she really liked to and people were asking for pics.

To everyone with a Jbrown mask, how long did it take to arrive? I sent my payment on Sept 13, and I'm still waiting. I'm just assuming he is really busy or that my mask is held up at customs. I'm just getting antsy because I need time to paint it, and it's the last piece that I need to finish my costume.

So it turns out I stupidly gave Jbrown my home address instead of my apartment at school so my mask arrived there early last week. so that explains why I haven't received my mask yet haha.

WELL N E WAY....


This was nerve wracking as F***. I got my first layer of rebound done, now I'm just waiting for it to be ready for the second. I only ended up using like 3 mixed Oz of silicone suprisingly. The next layers may need more however since they'll be thickened. We'll see.

coat numero dos. I think one more coat should be sufficiant for this, seeing as the positive wont be really solid, plus I'm using plasti-paste as my mother mold, so I don't have to worry about smoothing everything as rediculously.

Sorry guys I didn't want to start any Drama but I was being personally attacked and didn't think that was right as I was just joking with my original post.

I'm sorry to be catching attention and derail the conversation, but I guess no one is saying anything, because my sculpt looks really crap?
I mean I'm happy abput any feedback even if it's devastating, but it helps me improve..

I'm thinking about redoing the nose-socket part tomorrow making it a bit more steep.

Stricky sorry for not commenting earlier the sculpt is looking good my only advice is just clean up the left issue you were talking about and maybe try to get the cylinders that connect the pipes a little more symmetrical other than that it looks pretty good!
