This is about the worst day to make this announcement what with the Lucas/Disney deal taking hostage to most of the headlines. Well I've retweeted it to my 20+ followers LOL

X-men has always played the underdog, it played second-fiddle to the Matrix sequels in 2003, and people were not expecting much from First Class in a summer than saw the release of 3 other (higher-profile) comic book flicks, but X-men surprised a lot of people.

Come 2014 I fully expect DOFP to deliver and kick Peter Jackson's-Hobbit-toting behind!

This is good news. I was really pleased when I had heard Vaughn was on board the the First Class sequel and I was fairly shocked to hear he had dropped out (but stayed on as producer). Having Singer back is a best case scenario since I just wouldn't know what to think about any other director coming on board at this point.

yeahh, it will be really interesting to see what he does with all of them. Im sure he will bring something new and special from them three.

Yes! Finally a proper followup to singers original films. So I'm assuming its technically X-men 4/First-class 2, looking to alter x-men 3s storyline. This immediately has become my most anticipated film.

Singer was the one who cast Nick Hoult as beast, and cast him again in Jack the Giant Slayer. I hope that means we can expect more Beast this time around.

I can't wait to see Singer do for Beast what he did for Nightcrawler.

I want to read some interviews to Bryan already, too read his take on this sequel but at the same time to have one question about the future of the saga and if he have had ideas about it.

We know both him and Matthew had conversations during First Class, but now with this plot, wonder if plans have changed regarding the future of the franchise.

This. It would be an answer to those that feel that having both casts would mean another X3 and would clutter the film. Two movies would easily please fans of the First Class Cast and fans like me that want the Original Cast back
