Yeah, they are clearly playing this one close to the vest... I don't think they want to risk negative buzz (especially this far out).

Haven't been here in a while. Has Snyder mentioned being influenced by any specific comics for this movie?

Wasn't inspired by Batman Begins.
![]() But seriously, I think Birthright was mentioned somewhere. And I think with the inclusion of Zod and Faora, Superman 2 might have a little inspiration(not being a remake).

I'm watching Sucker Punch right now and I tell you what... Although as a story it's def subpar (*edit - actually it's not that bad lol) ... Snyder's visuals are Awesome! haha Seriously.
![]() ![]() ![]() He always gets the very best out of his SFX teams. He wants it to looks as close to real as possible it seems ![]() ![]() (last images: Legend of the Gardians, Dawn of the Dead) Really looking forward to what he has his team do for MOS. Especially with the more realistic approach they're going for.

I have no real reason to think MOS's story will be subpar, but Sucker Punch is a great example of how Snyder's movies can be loud and flashy without any real substance. All that said, my confidence in MOS overall is very high. But Snyder and his slo-mo infatuation can be worrisome.

As long as someone other than Snyder writes the scripts for Superman we ought to be fine.

Except a director has a lot of control in the cutting/editing process. He can edit out the entire story and leave just the flashy stuff behind if he really wants to. Not saying he will but it's possible.

Sucker Punch was just him wanting to cut loose with his own story, which he did. He can rein it in if need be.

i have no reason to worry about Snyder since Singer and Campbell on paper are superior directors yet gave us 2 of the worst dc movies to date yet i would rank watchmen wayyyyyy above green lantern and superman returns

That's what scares me - that Sucker Punch was Snyder's unadulterated version of "storytelling."

Yes, that's what's been said. But I think he's had a little more of an influence then they would like to let on. That's just me. One thing is for sure, he has a lot to do with everyone being tight lipped.

Yeah, ironically I think he's more involved than what people in here believe and what the news say. With the success of the TDK-trilogy I think they're almost afraid to NOT include him in everything, from a business POV.

I honestly dont think hes as involved as fans wish.I think hes being honest with saying that this is Snyders film. All he did was help create the story. He doesnt deserve more credit than that.Snyder is the one making this happen.Thje amazin visuals the terrific acting we saw in the comicon footage Snyder was involve in making it happen.Nolan has repeatedly pionted the finger for Snyder he deserves majority of the credit for this movie and I willbe very pissed if the Nolanites say otherwise

While I do agree that any success that the film earns should be mainly attributed to Snyder's hard work, in the same time, I wouldn't be comfortable at all with leaving the creative input in terms of the story telling to him given that he hasn't exactly proven that he's capable of creating great stories on his own. When it comes to directing his actors and really putting up some awesome imagery, then he's at his best..but for a character like Superman in this case, I feel like both Snyder's and Nolan's/Goyer's expertise are needed to make this franchise into a success.

If that's how it is, then that's a pretty damn big involvement still. The story is everything and not Snyder's big force. He just took over more or less after the hard work had been done. Well, I'm sure he's had his hands full and all, but Goyer and Nolan deserve more than simply a story-credit. With all due respect I'm sure they're the reason we're getting this movie right now.

Snyder is IMO a brilliant director. And that's all he needs to be to turn Goyer's script into a brilliant movie.
