Yeah, even though I wasn't serious about him as StarLord, I don't get all the hate for Special K in general. I think he *could* have a role in the MCU as a slightly roguish character, like Scott Lang or even Hank Pym. I would've even been okay with him as Clint Barton, before the MCU decided to Srs Bsns him up with Renner in the role.

They've been trying to do Y: The Last Man forever now. There was an update a few months ago about new writers and such.

I think Bradley Cooper has the same issue someone like Ryan Reynolds has. It's hard separating the actor from the role. Though Bradley has been excellent in the dramatic roles he has done.

My problem is he has a "pretty face" and I think they would have him mask less a lot.
I like Cooper I see more of a hank or Lang but I wouldn't hate it if he were cast.... He was actually my choice for GL over reynolds

I hope Bradley Cooper reads up on Star Lord before he reads for Quill.
I seem to remember him saying that when he auditioned for Hal Jordan he had no idea about the character so auditioned using the Bale "Bat Voice". LOL! |

from DEADLINE..
As Marvel Studios does each time it looks to land a lead for a superhero franchise, Kevin Feige’s hit-making studio has put together a short list for the lead in its next major project, Guardians Of The Galaxy. Marvel, after reportedly hiring James Gunn as director, has begun the effort to cast Peter Quill, the Guardians leader who is the offspring of a human mother and an alien father. I’m hearing that Marvel is making test deals with a small group of leading men. Here are the names: Zero Dark Thirty‘s Joel Edgerton, Boardwalk Empire‘s Jack Huston, Cloud Atlas‘ Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace (who has roles in both Lincoln and The Hobbit), and Eddie Redmayne from Les Miserables. I’ve confirmed all of them are in contention but can’t say definitively that this list is all-inclusive as I’ve also heard of interest from or in Garrett Hedlund, James Marsden (he already played Cyclops in X-Men, but then again Chris Evans played Fantastic Four‘s Human Torch before landing Captain America) and Edgerton’s Animal Kingdom co-star Sullivan Stapleton. We’ll stay tuned, but this certainly means that Marvel and Disney are serious about launching new superhero franchises. ![]() While these are all excellent actors I'd have to say my money is on Joel Edgerton or Jack Huston for Peter Quill/Star-Lord.. I'd like to see Lee Pace (Hobbit, Lincoln, The Fall) for Nova, Sullivan Stapleton (Strike Back, Animal Kingdom, 300: Rise of An Empire) for Drax and Eddie Redmayne for Adam Warlock..

i'm pulling for the Piemaker!! come on Pace! (all good choices though)
Huston seems like he could be a good replacement for stark one day. seems pretty likely they'll probly select Quill, Adam, and Nova (if in movie) from this pool of actors

Not sure if Nova as in Richard Rider will be in the film.. but Nova Corps. will be take a good look at the Guardians concept art from the Summer.. the ships in the background are Nova Corps. ships.. so Nova is very likely the person pursuing the "alien ex-cons" aka the Guardians during the film

Forget Sturgess, he doesn't fit the role for me. Edgerton or Hedlund are my top two.
