Ok Guys...Shall we talk DVD/Blu-ray? - Part 1

What a shocking amount of extras for the Avengers blu ray. Where's the effects reel? where are the trailers? Where's the step by step of every stage of the movie's production. No I don't have an Ipad before anyone asks. One of the worst extras blu ray in my collection. 1/10.

I must be the only person in the world who doesn't care about Blu-Ray/DVD bonus features. I'll watch them once, at most, and never pay a bit of attention to them again. The exceptions to that are the deleted scenes and the Marvel One-Shot short films. Even with the One-Shots I only care about the first two. Item 47 was boring.

Fair enough that you don't care for them but when other studios are going above and beyond to show you how they make their movie then you'd hope Disney of all people would insist they do the same. I'm pretty sure they have held back their features for their Briefcase set which is frankly shameless.

Depends on the film(s) for me. If its something I waited for years and years for then yes I'll watch and re-watch (which for me this counts under). But I also have lots of other Blu's and DVD's where I'm with you and only watch the film.

...other note, found an affordable Blu-Ray steelbook case online and bought it last week, arrived today, I'll be keeping the standard Blu in it (and possibly the DVD/Digital copy disk---basically the discs I'll be using---I bought the 3 disc 3D-Blu-DVD/Digital Copy set)

With the Marvel Phase one set coming next year (and hopefully still in the briefcase set), again I'm a sucker for boxsets...that makes me really want a Fox Marvel Set (or at least an X-Anthology set of some sort, other regions get them (X-Films Sets) why not REgion 1!)

Finally got around to listening to the commentary and got bored with it in 40 minutes, usually single person commentaries are good when the person has interesting tidbits but Joss Whedon's was boring.

I thought he did a very good job with the commentary. Being an aspiring filmmaker and fan of Whedon, it was very interesting listening to him. I gained alot of new insight from it. My only gripe was that he didn't stick around after the credits rolled.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed too. I wanted to hear from Fiege on that scene, basically what made them decide to call everyone back AFTER the premire.
Not to mention at least Joss DID a commentary. I really wanted to hear one from Joe on First Avenger

Maybe in January when they start filming the show? It'd be nice if that was involved with some of the added extras, like including the pilot episode or something.

If they cram the Phase 1 blu ray with additions that aren't one the blu rays I own then I will double dip but if they are just using the exact same disk and extras as the individual blu ray movie then it's a pass for me.

Also I refuse to believe that so few extras were made for the Avengers and instead choose to believe they are holding back those extras for Phase 1.

Is anyone else wondering where that scene from the commercial ads where Cap is throwing his shield in the alleyway is from?? I would've thought they'd put it in the blu-ray deleted scenes. I wonder where that scene is from?

Apparently it was just a promotional clip and not an actual clip from the movie. Though I only read that here.
