Are yew guys still digging up these old chestnuts....? What on earth fir, if I might ask....?

I think Groot will be very poplar with the fans. Even a dog wood think twice before lifting his leg to pee on such a larch specimen.

Groot should mumble alien words here and there. The only intelligible/English word is "I am Groot"

Sounds like casting is going in a very interesting --- and very different --- direction.

If the rumors are true, then it looks like they're hiring a top name to play Groot:

^Yep, Kristen Stewart.

So they're not getting a motion capture artist for Groot now?

That's a bit racist.

I wonder if they'll bother getting an actor, a voice actor or if they'll just get one of the crew to say his line.

To make a serious coment for a moment, but I wouldn't mind seeing Peter Cullen doing the voice of Groot. Granted, he's known primarily as the voice of Optimus Prime and Eeyoure, but he has a good voice range.

And he's done voice work in other live-action films that involved him simply making grunts and noises. Since obviously Groot isn't going to be saying alot.

I'm going to go "out on a limb" and say Cullen would probably want more $$ than Marvel's willing to pay. They need to find someone who's willing to "branch" out and do a movie like this.

Seriously, Keith David is one those actors who could read the phone book and make it work. If his only line is "I am Groot", Hell, I could play Groot. Just help me get my SAG card and we're good.to.go.

I'd like a scene where the Guardians are cornered, only for Groot to come out and go, "I... am... Groot." and warm the hearts of their attackers, making them leave them alone.
