I'm talking about the talent itself whether it comes from the soul or from a book. The ability of acting in all its simplicity, disregarding experience and training.
It's crucial to parts like this, especially in this case where there are multiple characters to portray.

Yeah i know what you're saying, i just think it's possible Cavill will shine in this role specifically, even if he doesn't't in other roles, because it's the sort of role that benefits from the qualities of a novice.

I'm not saying a proven bad actor could do the role. Just that someone who is no huge talent yet may be a perfect fit.

God i can't wait for a trailer. That comic con footage got me all excited about Cavill, just because i thought his delivery of the world not being ready line was really good, and i love the shot where he's in the suit in the arctic and looking up with his eyes closed.

I just wanna see more!

This is exactly how I've tried to assure myself too. All this talk about Cavill being a so-so actor yesterday had me a bit worried and I came to the same conclusion. I do hope he did a great performance and that everyone will be praising him in 7 months time!

In the comic-con trailer he had a somewhat hoarse, raspy voice when he says "who am I, where did I come from". But it's a different tone again at the end "My father believed that if the world..."

I can't wait for the trailer as well so we can get a better gauge on this, and put to rest some of our fears.

There are two lines that he delivers in the CC trailer that are just spot on. One where he's talking to Jor-El and the one at the end about the world not accepting him. Obviously they can cherry pick some great lines in a trailer but they could also severely limit his speaking time if its a problem. So far they're not.

I remember that Tarsem Singh, director of Immortals (Tarsem Singh and Zack Snyder are film school peers having attended Art Centre College of Design in California.) said that he always thought that Cavill would make a very good Clark Kent and Superman, at that time he had not got the role, though he had been in consideration for the role at the time of SR.

Both are what I loved most about the SDCC footage as well... really hope we get that shot and dialogue in the trailer next month.

Cavill doesn't have to be an Oscar actor just give a performance where people can buy into him being the character. Its not as if Hemsworth is a thespian but his a great Thor.

I actually loved Thor. It's one of my fav movies, so if Cavill can deliver that I will be happy.

Whoa, really? I think Cap and TIH are the weakest Marvel-films to-date. Cap basically felt like one long trailer for The Avengers, definitely the one Marvel-movie to suffer most from that set-up.

Yeah I'm a massive Cap fan I don't think it felt like that, the ending did but the film itself didn't to me. I also loved TIH I don't get the crap that film gets. I think by far the weakest is Iron Man 2. Tbh Avengers is the best but I don't like to compare the solo films to it.
