In hindsight what changes would you do

What changes would you do to the trilogy? For me I would have got rid of Rachel as a love interest and added Miranda Tate/Talia as the love interest late into Begins or early on in TDK. This would've made the Talia reveal a lot more impactful.

Nolan's Batman has always been a particularly talkative one. That's not necessarily a bad thing but it's not really what I prefer. I prefer Batman as a man of few words. On the other hand, scientific jargon is also a classic Batman trait so I can't really say I'd change that.

I think Batman was at his most talkative in TDK. From what I remember, his speeches in TDKR were pretty brief and to the point.

With another different version of batman always coming, when does it stop being batman? Is my batman more valid then say my grandads batman because times have changed along with some parts of the chracter. Is there ever a wrong version, i mean a version could have him in a pink suit ( i know brave and the bold, which i love) but if you give a reason for him to use that suit/action is it valid. Does it have to be bruce wayne? Or is it what the idea of batman stand for?

Yeah...exactly the same.

I feel its a pedantic exercise. Saying i would change someone's work , i dont find that very appropriate (maybe because im not a fan when applied to my professional life). Its not the same as having an opinion about something. To me there's a limit , when one states something they didn't create , should be altered.

But hey , you could say that Mona Lisa should have a different grading for all i care. I won't.

It is an exercise, a game, if you will. Just because there's something I'd have personally done different doesn't mean I think it should be altered, it just means that that's now I would have done it. It's a total exercise, but let me put it this way: if I didn't like working out, I wouldn't go to the gym to tell people that I think what they're doing is pointless, I'd just stay out of the gym.

I dont think that's a fair comparison. It would be like saying that if you didn't like tdkr , you should just stay out of superherohype boards of TDKR. Now , thats not fair right ?

I just answered the way i felt. In hindsight...i wouldn't change anything , because i dont find that appropriate. And i think the same , whether i liked the movie or not.

Not quite, the TDKR boards as a whole serve as a place for a wide variety of topics, some of which of focus on the negative. I guess it'd more akin to posting negative things in something like the "let's watch Spider-Man 3 and find positive things to say about it" thread.

1. Batman's Voice: The voice that Bale used when he was talking as Batman to Rachel in the Batcave was something that I would have preferred for him to use throughout the entire trilogy.

2. Different Fighting Style for Batman: I think I would have preferred seeing Batman use a different fighting style, something that would have given a better impression that he was more than an average brawler and could do some acrobatic stuff/moves.

3. Personally, I would have had someone else other than Maggie or Katie play Rachel; hell, Kate Beckinsale would have been a better choice. And instead of making her the object of both Harvey and Bruce's affections, I would have given Harvey a wife, where she was pregnant and was killed pregnant, hence adding more reasoning to Dent's line about where his "family" died. I would have still killed off Rachel, only it would have happened later on, possibly in the climax with Joker, where Bruce would really be feeling the raw emotions of anger and we would get to see on how Bruce still overcame that temptation of killing the Joker right then and there when his emotions were still very raw.

4. I would have had Talia reveal herself much earlier on in TDKR to both Bruce and Gotham. I would have had Bane having a separate agenda from Talia, along with Bane having been the actual person to have climbed out of the pit. Talia's motive would have been to clean Gotham out of its corrupted people while Bane would have been planing to take over the entire country, with Gotham as his starting point.

5. To reinforce on how the wealthy were in power while the poor were still suffering, despite crime being at a all time low, I would have probably had Gotham be more militaristic where people were being forced to live by a very strict and harsh law as a result of both Dent's death and how the city felt that by being more harsh with their punishments and laws that it would prevent people from resorting to committing crimes, hence the lower society growing a grudge at the high and powerful.

6. Less time on orphanage, and more time on Selina's reaction to the Marshal Law in the city along with the reactions of its citizens to both Dent's secret and the state of the city.

I could go on actually, but those will do for now.haha

I only answered the question of the op . I wouldn't change anything. I find that line of thought a little disrespectful to authors.

Probably be a very unpopular post, but I will post anyway as I like this idea. I would have had no 8 year gap and instead as the dark knight ends and he is being pursued by the whole GCP, have Bane ambush him at this point still injured and exhausted from The Joker and Two Face encounters, we get the sewer fight and the defeat of Batman. And as Gotham is still shocked and confused by all the events of TDK, Bane could capitalise with his plan. I know people do like the 8 year gap, but just simply my opinion.

Batman Begins:

- Develop Jonathan Crane a bit more such as exploring his own fear with bats since FEAR was such a major theme for BB.

- Give us an actual fight sequence between Zsaz and Batman.

The Dark Knight:

- Make Rachel Dawes pregnant which would add even more of an impact when Harvey Dent told Gordon to meet him where his family died. Knowing that Dent was indeed having a family would make his turn into Two-Face all the more emotional.

- Give detail on who exactly are the five people that Two-Face killed.

- Keep the bat sonar up and running.

The Dark Knight Rises:

- Bring back Coleman Reese as an ally for Bruce Wayne.

- Keep the theme of using the news as a circuit to give the audience the views of Gotham City, such as when Batman returned and when Batman vanished again. Or at least something close to how The Dark Knight Returns portrays the news, so something maybe a little different than how TDK did it.

- Change John Daggett's name to Roland Daggett.

- Take away all signs that would point to Miranda Tate being a love interest and take away her sex scene with Bruce Wayne. Keep them as working professionals who maybe become friends. There are other ways for Talia to get into Bruce's heart than to get in his pants.

- Give the Mayor more scenes, such as antagonizing Gordon on capturing Batman after his return and also hint on him wanting to fire Gordon in the spring before his death.

- Give one mention to Joker, such as him escaping Arkham Asylum or having escaped Arkham Asylum during the last eight years. Perhaps Bruce giving Blake some insight on Joker's whereabouts after he takes up the mantle to become the new Batman.

- Have a scene of Bruce talking to his parents' grave before he finally returns as Batman.

- Kill off Jen at the end to lose all ties with Selina in staying in Gotham City.

- Have Gordon actually retire from the GCPD at the end.

- Get rid of the entire character of Deputy Commissioner Foley.

General over all three films:

- Keep Batman's fighting style that he had in Batman Begins.

For me,

Develop Talia,and have her try to seduce Bruce to return to the LoS.

Two-Face didn't die and is secretly in arkham,Bane reveals this

Bruce trains Robin to become a legit crimefighter

Bruce doesn't retire at the end

Batman doesnt kill the truck driver

Catwoman doesn't kill period

That would be my perfect film,but I don't hate the film as is.

The entire "bomb" climax in TDKR. Still not buying into the "driving a bomb around the city for months" thing. Seemed stupid and retroactive. It's like they needed some excuse to keep Gotham alive while Bruce was recovering in the pit.

No 8 year break (maybe one or two years)
More creative villain after TDK, i.e. not use the League of Shadows AGAIN.
No Talia. She was wasted and done poorly.
Different use of Scarecrow in TDKR. Either don't use him at all or make him important. The court scene was a waste for one of my favorite and most creative Batman villains.
Remove the Tumbler chase scene in BB. Driving on rooftops? Really???

I know there are more I can't think of right off.
