That's not what I meant. GL should have been good enough to get to a similar (or at least vaguely comparable) level of both GA & fan appreciation, critical recognition & box office success to Iron Man. Best way to blow a GA member's mind is when they find out the upcoming Batman Superman team film features the new guy they just saw & loved that they didn't really know about before.

Wasn't commmenting on any actual similarity to Iron Man or his dynamic in connection with Avengers.

Yep. Exactly. They have equal odds of being good or bad whether they come before or after Justice League. But they have better odds of making more money after they hang out with Batman. It's pretty simple. Marvel needed to, WB doesn't, so they won't.

And about the introducing mythos deal, that's what writers are for.

And there you have it. Sounds to me like Warner Bros. want Man of Steel to provide a Superman that will not only work in his own picture but will also work in their Justice League movie too. As expected, to be honest.

Incidentally, the same article says that Cavill is signed on for three films, but whether that would include Justice League or not isn’t clear. By comparison, those nine-movie Marvel deals do seem so much more sensible, once again.

I noticed that WB and Village Roadshow Pictures have re-upped their co-finance and co-production deal up through 2017. No word on whether Legendary will do the same, or find another studio come 2014.

If Legendary doesn't renew their co-financing deal with WB (which seems likely given they pulled out of 2014's All You Need is Kill), I guess JL will be a WB/Village Roadshow co-production instead.

Oh my... seems like HitFlix has a big scoop. They say WB is firming up a deal for Joseph Gordon Levitt to play Batman in JL. It's not an indication of whether WB will fast-track the production, but plans are for Levitt and another Batman actor to appear in the pic.

If it pans out, it neatly sidesteps problems a second reboot can cause. I don't know if Levitt can wear that suit as well as Bale did, but we won't know until the movie happens.

Levitt looked pretty buff in that SNL skit spoofing "Magic Mike." He wasn't a beast like Cavill is, but he was toned.

I wonder why none of the outlets have picked up this bit yet. Maybe they're waiting for the second actor to be confirmed before claiming it as an exclusive scoop.

Any news on who'll be the second actor reprising their role? My money's on either Gary Oldman or Michael Caine.

Yeah... no. That's a terrible idea.

Having Blake play Batman also brings the character back to his roots... as one of the world's best detectives. They pretty much glossed over or ignored it in the Nolan films.
