So I know Darabont is no longer show runner, but a lot of discussion got me thinking about Rick and how he reacted to what happened in episode 04. I realized not only do I believe Lincoln acted realistically, I was reminded of a great performance brought out by Darabont in Tom Jane at the end of The Mist. It's two different kinds of grief but both reactions are just so raw and realistic. I really like how the actors managed them.

The chicken, Rick thought he shot was actually a baby and the whole series was in the mind of an autistic Carl. Meanwhile the group fails to prevent the Colonists from taking over the Earth.

I thought I heard something about that, and I could definitely see why they wouldn't do it. It'd really back them into a corner with a lot of things. Maybe someone else, though?

I really like how they still use key events from the books, but switch up which characters are involved

Good you can have that crappy ending episode along with the ending to Soprano's as well. Have fun

Congrats on caring enough to respond to my post. Lost had 3 maybe 4 good seasons. Bottom line it wasn't the characters that were lost it was the writers and the ending was one of the crappiest endings ever. It was a show that had good dialogue, drama, characters and premise, but honestly did not know where the heck it was going.

While Daryl and Merle are actually the embodiment of good and evil and Merle wants to leave Woodsbury, but must never ever.

And this show has any direction? After this season the show is going to be a real repeat of everything we've already seen unless they drastically derive from the comic.

Um, TWD has continually grown since its beginning without any real negative feedback from audience or critics as to the direction the writers and execs have taken the show.

How do you know the show is going to be a real repeat of everything we've already seen? The show has diverged from the comic, come back and split off again and again to keep the story fresh and surprising to a degree.

TWD has at the very least 2-3 more seasons left in it that may continue to surprise critics and viewers in the direction it can take whether it continues on with parts of the comic or separates completely.

This is the same show that has a fan base that judges an episode how many zombies get killed. And don't try telling me most people who watch this show don't call and episode boring because there wasn't enough zombie slaughtering. I'm not talking about everyone but there a lot of people who do think that.

The show may have 2-3 seasons left but its going to get very repetivite after the prison arch. I felt the same way about the comic. LOST's story may have gotten too far out there towards the end but at least they made an effort to change it up a bit and you still had a ton of characters who you gave a damn about whether you liked them or not. I can't say the same about Walking Dead.

Rick's breakdown on the show has gone so differently than in the comics. Without giving too much away it was really the governor who caused ricks emotional breakdown through a number of different incidences and actions.

On the show it looks like rick is already a broken man now before even meeting the governor.

Glen Mazarra said they wanted to approach it differently in the show, they wanted to see how the Governor/Rick first interaction would go down when Rick was ALREADY a broken man.

I cant wait to see how Rick approaches the Gov. problem now

Not to compare shows, because that wasn't my initial intent, I agree with some of your points regarding both shows, specifically the part about how some fans call an episode boring when there isn't enough zombie slaughtering and how Lost had a lot of characters that people gave a d*mn about.

Now while I feel that the direction of TWD is better for now than Lost ended up with that may change depending on the next few seasons. Only time will tell. I agree that the characters were more important or you felt more for them in Lost, mainly because the drove the show, especially since the overall story didn't really. Yeah the subplots, and season stories were good/great, but the overall show story was weak because the writers didn't know where to take it and if they did it sure didn't work out well; monsters, time travel, good and evil, colonists in different eras, on the island off the island, dream sequences, body possession....yeah the show had it all but for what. Perhaps they didn't think they would get as many seasons, or maybe the writers' strike had a huge part to play. Bottom line was the overall main story suffered.

In TWD the story is good, the plot, the build up, etc. Sure some characters could be fleshed out some more and I'll give Lost the lead on that, but thus far TWD has stayed true to its direction.

Not saying TWD is a better show than Lost, just saying we better not find out that everyone is dead at the end and all this has been for nothing really.

This season is a drastic change from Seasons 1 and 2, and that's mainly because of the introduction of new characters. Michonne and the Governor have single-handedly changed the entire series.

That's the key. The situation/world will always be the same and repetitive... but it's the characters that keep it interesting. This series could easily make it to Season 15, and it's as simple as killing off the entire cast minus Rick (or hell, Rick too, should Andrew Lincoln want to leave), and moving through several casts if need be. The Walking Dead Universe can be infinite.

I just wish Robert Kirkman would realize this. The comics have gotten so slow. It's literally entire issues of nothing happening... even 6 issues in a row. That's a half a year of nothing happening. We can't wait a month only to finish a new, useless issue in 3 minutes.

Yeah, thats why I'm not a fan of the comics as much once
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Rick and co reach the gated community. I forgot the name. It had a few good points but it seemed like a constant alternation between good issue, dull issue, dull issue, good issue, until eventually 99 came and Kirkman got kill happy and took out Abraham before the big death in 100. Now we're kinda back to the formula again.

Also, anyone happen to have an avy size gif of MErel doing the one-handed pus-ups in the arena? I've had my current avy far too long.
