Well Mendes did say the Nolan Batfilms were an inspiration. By that same token, though, Nolan's Batfilms borrow tremendously from the Bond franchise. The opening of TDKR is basically the opening of one of the Dalton Bond flicks, forget which one. It's all a big incestuous thing.

It is damn near impossible to name a film these days that doesn't borrow, pay homage, or has inspirations from past films...considering how everything has pretty much been done. Hell...even Heath Ledger himself said Alex from A Clockwork Orange was an influence of his when he played The Joker.
