The Comic Con trailer wasn't in HD. And not every John and Jane saw that footage. I expect some of it to be in the next official trailer. With the majority of it being new stuff.

The most recent rumors say that its all new footage and non of it is from the SDCC trailer nor the teaser.

I think the trailer will be much more hollywood blockbuster like. The comic con was a bit too somber I think for a big unveiling trailer.

Ugh. 60%. We're now moving at like 1-2% per day. Didn't it take IM3 4 days? We're approaching that now with no end in sight. It just makes us look bad really.

I reckon the fix is in. They planned to release something on the 4th. But then they realized they could con us into doing some free marketing for a TDKR dvd for them at the same time whilst still releasing on the 4th.

Well this is the same studio that hopes/had hoped?, that they could release a JLA film that could earn them the same amount of money that the Avengers did for Marvel Studios, without putting any effort and time into it like MS did with their properties.

A quality Justice League movie absolutely could because



Dark Knight Rises didn't make a huge amount less than Avengers. And that was without 3D and with a gigantic tragedy attached to it. I really don't think it's box office drawing power would be an issue. As long as it's well-received.

And who says they aren't putting in time or effort? The movie, if the 2015 date is still on, would come out 4 years after the screenwriter, who is a fan, was hired. Joss Whedon was hired to rewrite the Avengers script from page one less than 2 years before Avengers' release date and he was still writing during shooting. They hired a fresh face who has gotten praise for the work he has done and loves the characters to write it, like Nolan at the time. Besides finding the right director to bring it all together, it's pretty much in Will Beall's hands.

I meant in the sense where MS took liberties in allowing audiences to get familiar with most of the heroes before pitting them together onto the big screen.

With the approach of just going into a big team up film, then there's no way of knowing on how each hero will be received by the audience, let alone the actor/actress that's playing them.

Plus, pitting a JLA film in the same year against the Avengers 2 isn't what I'd call a smart move in any standpoint.

Not to mention, having a shared universe also means that Henry's Superman will no longer be able to have some of his biggest villains from the comics appear in his solo films as his main adversaries as they'll be saved for the JLA films.

And with a JLA film, you need a Batman as well, and we just had a batman not too long ago, regardless of the fact that it was the closing chapter to one franchise. People complain that it was too soon to have a new spider-man within a 5 year time difference, imagine when we get a new batman after a 3 year difference, let alone after one that was received very well by fans and audiences alike.

Justice League and Avengers 2 would in no way be released during each other's run. Being released the same year isn't an issue.

I don't think the new Batman thing would be a problem. At least for enough people to make a difference.

The lead-in movies really aren't necessary when three of the most well-known pop culture icons ever are involved, the only reason Marvel needed to get everyone connected to their characters beforehand was because they didn't have any that anyone knew about but Hulk, who people had become indifferent about.

The risk of people not liking how the characters are portrayed is exactly the same as Marvel's. If anything, the odds were against Marvel there. If they fumbled the characters in the solo movies they would have been ****ed come time to make Avengers. With Justice League, assuming people like Man of Steel, people would line up to see Henry back as Supers, the new Batman, and the big-screen debut of Wonder Woman. If people don't like the way The Flash or whoever is written they'd be able to tweak the issues before the solo outing. There's no good or bad way to go, just whether you execute the way you choose good or bad.

The only villain commonly referred to as a Superman villain that would really be off-limits in a shared universe is Darkseid, and he should take on the whole Justice League anyway.

I expect great visuals and action shots. They have to start thinking about getting the casual movie goer more interested. I don't think they care as much about the symbolism as fanboys do.

Personally, I'd like to see Warner Bros. being able to win over the audience and proving that they can make characters like WW and Flash work on the big screen before putting them all together in such a big film.

So far, we're still waiting to see if Warner Bros. can make Superman work on the big screen with the release of MOS next year. We know that they can make Batman work, but they weren't as lucky with Green Lantern.

I mean honestly, I really don't see any evidence to support on why a JLA film would work at this tenure in time.

Even though the people at MS made their collective universe to win over profit, you could at least tell that the studio in charge of those films were fans of the comics themselves and invested in those characters as much as the fans were.

So far, the only thing that I've seen is that Warner Bros. just wants to make a quick buck from capitalizing on the success that the Avengers had at the Box Office, and lightning oh so rarely strikes twice.

Until Warner Bros. can prove that what they're making is quality stuff that won't affect Superman's own solo franchise in a negative light, then I can't personally get behind the idea of a JLA film. Plus, as history shows, whenever Superman and Batman have been put on the same screen together, Superman has always been made out to be the lesser man in order to make Batman more cooler, etc, just because he was the one without no powers.

We're back at the to JL or not to JL argument.

I was thinking about it recently. I just can't see them making it work with what they're establishing already. Think if you were to add a plethora of superheroes to the world in which the Nolan films take place. It just takes away too much from the realistic world-building they've put in place. The Nolan Batman films essentially establish that apart from the fictitious city its set in, this is essentially 'our' world with our rules put in place.

It's the same for what they appear to be doing with Superman. They're making Superman the first super-powered being on Earth and going into all of what that could mean. Now that's not to say you can't have other superheroes show up and them all team up or whatever and wage war. But then suddenly what have you done to the backdrop of these films now. It's not 'our' world with Superman anymore. It's just become too far removed.

Like I said earlier the problems with Justice league interering with Mos can be solved rather simply.

Set the JLA and MOS series in different timelines.

MOS trilogy will be about a rookie Superman in a world with no superheroes,JLA will feature a veteran Superman leading a world of Superheroes.

The one thing i really hope they do keep from the comic con trailer is that last line. I just think 'what do you think?' is a great powerful way to end a trailer and really make people think 'yeah, you know what, the world IS ready!'

People have actually read that wrong, what it meant was it wasn't the same trailer as the comic con one so its not that particular footage not that some of the footage in that won't be reused.

Yeah.There's no way they won't use any of the comic-con footage. They could, but I really doubt it. I would definitely love to see a lot of scenes from it.

Superman exiting the Fortress/ship wearing the costume and taking off. Clark walking into the Daily Planet elevator and putting his glasses on. Maybe Superman getting buried under what appear to be skulls. And I'd also like it if they used Superman's line from the end of the cc trailer.
