Beyond the fact that this actually appears to be a TDKR promotion(which it is) on the surface, the fact that it took both TDKR and IM3(second sequels respectively) a fraction of the time to accumulate the "appropriate" number of votes spoke volumes about the hype for those films to the rest of the world.

All this is telling "us" is that the buzz is luke warm. Which is funny cause I'm reading that they are purposefully holding the "number" down? silly.

I'm just glade a proper trailer is finally coming(pretty much on the day the film was going to be released). Of that I can be thankful.

I had spoke to a cousin of mine who works with Warner Bros. She said she thought the delay might be due to them hoping to wait till closer to the release of The Hobbit. But, her job has nothing to due with that department.

The hype for IM3 is completely different than MOS for the same reason that Batman Begins had virtually no excitement or build up to its release in June. Iron Man has had two successful installments (not including The Avengers). Superman had one film half a decade ago.

Apples and oranges.

In addition, there is no hype for MOS out there. Why? Because the studio has yet to commence the first major stage for the marketing. That doesn't start until mid-December.

This doesn't make much sense. WB sets the rate of increase, not fan interest. If they wanted it complete tomorrow they could do it.

Perhaps if you read what I said you'd note I alluded to the Tactic WB seems to have in play. Which I will refer to as the act of purposefully diminishing the hype meter to suit their own means, which in turn has the adverse effect of making it seem like the hype for this film is less than it actually is.

As for the hype in comparison to successful sequels of other films. The average person doesn't care about that. All they know is that is next summer there is a film with a lot of hype coming out and one with little hype...spread the word.

Not that they have control, but rather that if it's actively being controlled in such a way. That's never the implication with these. Never.

I had a terrible dream where the new trailer finally came with The Hobbit. The music started, and all we saw was white. Then, flashes of the Fortress of Solitude. This went on for a while... then, a shot of Tom Welling in the Superman costume flying towards us. It cut to black with the WB and Legendary logos coming afterwards, in which I thought there would be more footage... but nope. That was it. And I was disappoint.

Didnt this thing drop like a dozen percentage points a couple days back and now its moving at a crawl?

Seems to show that whoever did this marketing promo didnt properly gauge how much fan interest there was in the movie and risked having the goal reached before they wanted.

The reason it seems like that to us is because the number was increasing at a good pace until it hit 57%. Then the number dropped to 27%. Then it went back up to 57% and has been increasing at a much, much slower rate than before. So no, I don't think the buzz is lukewarm, I think something else happened.
