I don't think he'd necessarily need to be bald, he may just have a fairly close shave to have a good look for Lex.

I totally agree with this. I don't think Lex needs to be bald at all. IMO, I think Luthor in a Movie would be better buzz cut or slick back hair.

But this guy is not Lex to me. Whomever he is tho, he's pretty secretive about it.

But that's the one visually iconic thing about Lex Luthor. They haven't gotten him completely right yet so why continue that trend and give him hair?

So given that it was only till recently that the actor had confirmed his involvement with the film, does that mean that he has a very small part in the film or that his role is a secret one that the filmmakers don't want to let out? Which is more likely I wonder given that he's not really a well known actor (I think) for the GA.

This. In pretty much every medium at some point he is bald. Why on earth would that change? He has no other things psychically that seperate him, this should be a must.

One reason to do it would be to avoid being cliche. The bald villain is a cliche. And I've just addresses the "it's always been done this way argument" so there's no need to keep responding with that.

John Shea's Lex was my fave interpretation, and he didn't loose his hair until the second season after he awoke from a coma.

I'd prefer Lex to be bald, but if he's well written, acted and his part in the story well thought out, then how he looks just won't matter that much.

I agree. I thought Jon Shea was perfect as Lex. He was a refined and wealthy business man, but shrewd and evil.

Mad scientist style Lex is too easy for Superman to thwart because all he has to do is find him. The L&C Luthor was a much better foil for because he neutered Superman. His vast power was useless against a man who could hide behind a popular public face and an army of lawyers and corporations.

I wanted Tahmoh as Superman while back before Cavill was announced.

I'd be fine with him as Metallo or Lex.

Does anyone remember when one of the guys who had been invited on set and had had the tour,talked with Snyder and Cavill and been given certain news on MOS that they couldn't release until a certain time and date,and he had leaked a little info by saying that there would be other villains other than Zod and Kryptonians,and they would be playing a smaller part in this movie,and could be in any possible sequel?

It was a small online article while filming was still taking place,cant remember the author or the site?

Tahmoh Penikett would be an interesting choice as Lex. His look and voice work very well. I just don't think his range is up to par to be the greatest Superman villain evar. He'd be fun as Metallo though.

Not entirely high profile to be on Lex standards but I'd be cool for Tahmoh as John Corben/Metallo. And he doesn't even have to become Metallo until the sequel too. But I do hope to see perhaps a glimpse or even a mention of Lex Luthor though, much like Norman Osborn in TASM.
