Yeah, I know which is why I posted the same link over in the Captain America The Winter Soldier, News and Speculation thread. I just figured that with this being the Iron Man 3 Movie thread that I wouldn't bring things related to Captain America 2 into it, as he has his own thread.

Personally, I got my fill of Fury in an Iron Man movie with Iron Man II. I still like the character and how he fits into this movie universe, but I'm ready for something different.

I think it will be interesting seeing Fury interact with Cap this go around and actually would have liked to see an appearance by him in Thor.

I'm glad their not plonking Fury for the hell of it. He's needed in CA2, he obviously is not in IM3.

Yeah besides, Fury and Cap have usually been pretty close in the comics

- I cannot sleep. And when I do, I have nightmares that are not related to the Tesseract at all, but rather to whatever is going wrong in the movie - for example the fact that the suit is not obeying me and acting on his own.
- I hope to protect the one person I cannot live without - but not from aliens, and rather from the new in-movie threat?

I don't think they'd cut it the way they did just to pretend the Avengers will be addressed. I think they're doing it to make sure you know those events won't be ignored. Feige already said the NY fight changed Tony.

I guess we are finally back to making solo Marvel movies that don't have too many cameos and continuously promote Avengers throughout the film at the expense of the solo movies themselves, which is what we got with all the solo films other than Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. I'm glad to hear this.

I think Iron Man 2 was the only one that was really heavy with the Avengers promotion. The others had their moments, but I don't think it was too heavy.

Having said that, it will be nice to have an Iron Man 3 that apparently will be Iron Man focused.

Killian's role is already considerably beefed up from the comics (for the record, Aldrich Killian never even had a "speaking" role in the original Extremis comic, as readers of it well know). I strongly, strongly suspect he's the "Scientist Supreme" of AIM in this movie.

Tony doesn't strike me (in the comics *or* the MCU) as being the "open-minded" scientist type, though. He's of that variety that thinks science is cut-and-dried, nuts-and-bolts, and that all that supernatural b.s. is just that --- b.s. You get the impression in Avengers early that he doesn't even remotely believe that Thor is a god or even an alien. I think his "down (up) the rabbit hole" moment through the portal was a major epiphany for him, and really, really shook him up; because now he has to accept that he *doesn't* know everything. And, in fact, given the MCU's vastly expanded universe, he's got to realize that he really knows next to nothing at all about how the (superhero/space opera/fantasy) universe works.

Yeah, Marvel started it's cinematic universe really strong with Iron Man, still a great movie to watch. Iron Man 2 had some issues but I still enjoy watching it (my biggest complaint was them turning Whiplash into basically a version of Iron Man, not the cross over stuff that bothers some people).

I can't wait to see where they take the character in Iron Man 3. It's going to be awesome.

The first Iron Man will be tough to beat, but hopefully they learned from some of the mistake they made with the second film (I still enjoyed the second).

I don't mind if Happy dies. If any of Tony's support cast has to bite the dust I would rather it be him than Rhodey or Pepper

Oh well I liked him. And give the guy credit, he was the director in IM2.
