I just think, for example, that Bane's theme from the TDKR OST is much more catchy than say the Joker's theme from TDK, which gets a bit tiring after a while (probably because it's also 9 minutes long). It's why I prefer the shortened version, the "Bank Robbery (Prologue)" track.

It's definitely a cue that works to perfection in the film, but isn't necessarily as gripping on the album.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the idea and what Zimmer was going for with it, but yeah, what you said is basically the crux of the matter.

My custom covers for the complete score, inspired by the previously posted FYC awards DVD cover, and the TDK Collector's Edition cover.

The score is nominated for a Grammy!
http://batman-news.com/2012/12/06/ha...-for-a-grammy/ BTW, I just found out about the complete score today. How does something like this leak online? Does an angry intern decide to upload it to the internet one day? I'm under the impression that this isn't for sale... |

"Why do we fall?" and "On thin ice" are so damn powerful. I love how the haunting two note motif starts whenever Bruce is being summoned to return as Batman - scene at the manor with Blake and the hospital scene with Gordon.

Agreed. Those two tracks are probably my favourite off the TDKR soundtrack (along with 'Gotham's Reckoning' and 'Mind If I Cut In?').

I am definitely finding this score easier to listen to all the way through than the other two scores. "Rise" is a great finish.

I find the whole trilogy to be great to listen to, although I don't enjoy TDK as much as I did before (It's great, but I enjoy TDKR and Begins a bit more, although TDK has some of my favorite cues of the series.) Zimmer and JNH were great choices.

The movie was my least favorite of the trilogy. But I think it has the best soundtrack of all three.

Yeah, the foreboding 'Why Do We Fall?' which is hinted at after Blake's visit is awesome. The music from BB is good, but I like the work from TDK and TDKR more. Zimmer's sound really is my favourite for Batman, no joke.

I prefer Zimmer's work over Elfman's. Elfman's Main Theme is Iconic, but the rest (besides Descent Into Mystery and Childhood Remembered) always fell flat to me.
I prefer the simplicity of the main theme in these films (the rising two notes), as well as the big hero motif that plays when Batman shows up (like when Batman returns in Rises). The general power, beauty and emotion of his and JNH's work has had such a huge impact on me. |

I've always felt that Zimmer's work far surpasses Elfman's. Elfman's theme is great, don't get me wrong, and it is indeed iconic as others have mentioned, but I think on a dramatic level it isn't as deep or complex. Zimmer's Batman theme takes me onto a psychological journey into the character of Bruce. It more clearly defines who he is as a person and what he means as a symbol. It's much more personal.

I'm confident in identifying cues. I have listened, and still listen, to these scores quite a bit.

Yeah, the complete score helps.
It makes mundane chores like grocery shopping really awesome. I also notice that I work a little harder at work while I play the soundtrack.

Does anyone have this complete score in HQ and with normalization of sound? Because, last one... was.. not normalize (some tracks was loud, and some - not).
