I caught far too much of Jim Carrey's The Grinch on TV a day or two ago. In the end I left the room because I figured doing the dishes would be more fun -did Carrey really need the money that badly?

That's funny, though I don't remember that movie being quite that awful. Of course, I was like, eight the last time I saw it.
I myself will have to go with The Box. I saw it a few months ago, and I still haven't seen a movie worse than that one yet. It's so weird and pretentious. None of the characters are likable, and it feels like the director/writer is putting "words in our [the audiences] mouths" so to speak. |

Red Lights
It started out as just one of those mediocre movies. Dull plot, but decent enough actors to have you reserving judgement. Half way through, there is a 'shock' death that is barely even explained. After that everything decends into complete madness. There is no longer even what i'd call a plot. Just a series of illogical events and speeches that sound like the rambles of a mad man. Then to top it all off, they finish with not one but two cliched 'twists'. I watched this movie with my mum for her bday. When it was over we just both burst out laughing. I am ashamed of Robert DeNiro, Sigourney Weaver, Cillain Murphy and Elizabeth Olsen for being involved with this

Hostel Part III. Netflix owes me money after allowing me to watch it.

Premium Rush. A very mediocre film.
Also Expendables 2, I didn't expect Paths of glory going in but it was still pretty bad. I thought Van Damme was great though. An underrated actor IMO

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call either of them terrible, but both Ted and Total Recall (2012) were pretty disappointing.

I saw part of one of those Twilight movies a week or two ago and was absolutely appalled by it. Even though I had heard how bad they are, I was shocked. It was so awful that I couldn't even laugh at the damned thing. The acting was some of the worst I have ever seen. Even Ed Wood's movies had better performances. Stewart is a lost cause but Pattinson has some talent. He should be ashamed of himself, and I think he is.

I didn't like it either and I'm an old school action junkie but this one just like the first one felt dull.

As for Pattinson, thanks to his success with this franchise he is able to do more edgy projects like Cosmopolis and he is probably pretty grateful for the clout the Twilight films gave him in the industry. I think he is a good actor and that he will have an interesting career. I agree.

I second this opinion. Great soundtrack It was nice to see some more characters from the game but horrible horrible movie. If there was ever an existing franchise that really needs to be rebooted this is it. I want a True Resident Evil movie that focuses more on the Virus and actually follows the main characters not some made up Alice character. |

This is 40.
I'm not very interested in Apatow's home movies.

I never understood why so many people watch so many films they dislike. I'd say if you see enough bad films to make a top 10 worst of the year list then unless you're a critic who HAS to watch all the films that come out then you should have developed a better sense of what you'll like and dislike by now.
I saw 4 films this year that I didn't like and that's actually quite a high number for me. Usually it's only 1 or 2 a year because I know what I like and I choose not to waste my time of $ on films I'm pretty sure I won't enjoy. You may not be able to always tell a book by it's cover but you can guess right most of the time and save yourself the trouble.

Edit: To each its own. I should just have said that I didn't enjoy it that much. But I have to admit it was really well done and I'm looking forward to more movies from Timur.

Well, when you get down to brass tacks....aren't ALL films inherently unnecessary?
