Although Mace Windu appeared only in the prequel trilogy and he didn't die, I think there's a big chance that the writers will find a way to implement his return in the new trilogy. After all he was said to be one of the strongest Jedi and even they gave him a unique colored light sabre. He can't just disappear.

Here’s my idea on how to bring Mace Windu back.

Luke hears about a rogue Jedi running around dispensing his own kind of personal justice. Luke tracks him down only to discover Mace Windu, with cybernetic arm and scarred face. This Mace is hardened, bitter and walking dangerously close to the dark side. When he explains his story we see a flashback showing how he saved himself during the fall by grabbing a nearby speeder that was passing by, after that he went into hiding after Order 66.

Id like for him to come back. He could come back as a force ghost. Or he could come back alive. Jedi have survived crazy **** in the EU so why not here? We didnt see him hit the ground and a Jedi can control a fall from crazy heights. Also Luke survived a worse electrocution and Mace was arguably more powerful than Luke at the time of his electrocution. I could easily see him returning in a future film. This is a franchise now. Dead characters wont always stay dead. Especially jedi and sith. As for why he didnt show up in the OT, besides the obvious reasons, it could be explained that he was either unhinged after the fight, was picked up by slavers, fell into the criminal underworld, was too unnerved to go after the empire by himself assuming yoda and obiwan were dead etc. Honestly if Maul can come back then Mace can.

Maul got cut in half and fell down a ridiculously deep shaft and they managed to bring him. Mace could have probably managed to hold onto one of the speeders you mentioned.

Not that I'm saying he is alive or I want him alive, but if they managed to bring Maul back, Mace being alive isn't that far fetched.

I don't want it but on the other hand I wouldn't flip out if it happened. But it's highly unlikely anyway unless Mace sold a **** load of toys or something, there's no real reason to bring him back story wise or financially.
