Ant-Man Casting Thread

The only way I'd accept Lang is if he is/were a side character and of roughly the same age bracket as Pym. Marvel like to micromanage their movies, so I don't think (hopefully) Lang will be made a major player and an Avenger to boot.

I'm staggered that there's still uncertainty whether A-M should be mainly about Hank + Janet. Like I said in another thread, if Wright - even though I like his style and it would suit an A-M film - is insistent on making Lang the main player, someone else should do the movie.

Things are looking mightily grim. We may not get Ant-Man & Wasp into TA2, and - going by the current situation/hearsay - even if they did make it, it could be Scott ****ing Lang as Ant-Man and who knows who as the Wasp!

There is one person who I think would be a great Ant-Man because he already plays a character that can be smart, tough, caring, great with action and fights un-normal things who can look like a young scientist involved in research. From the series Supernatural, a great actor, height and weight is around Pym's and he is great on the show with action, charm and humor. His name is:

now that I like Lee Pace for Peter Quill, I'm trying to think of a new favorite for Pym. I guess the first thing that comes to mind is Adam Scott. I'd be totally fine with that. His build and demeanor brings a kind of natural appeal for him as Hank Pym. Whoever originally suggested it I concur.

Just don't see them doing that, idk why maybe just because I don't want to see it hah. I want Pym and Janet as main, leave Giant-Man for a sequel or an apperance at the very end of the film that comes out of nowhere. Only spot I want Lang is if they go for the "to steal an ant-man" story and make it so that takes up 2/3 of the movie and the last 1/3 Lang/Pym team up to stop the baddie, then Lang goes back to whatever he was doing haha.

he's busy with CSI and they usually don't hire aged "television actors" to lead a $150m dollar action franchise films.. they'd need someone between 30-40 to be able to commit to three films plus Avengers sequels.. without becoming too old for the role.. not everyone is as fit as RDJ or Tom Cruise..

Aussie actor Jai Courtney (Spartacus) is an action star in the making. He's taken on big Hollywood roles in Jack Reacher and is co-starring in A Good Day To Die Hard with Bruce Willis. There is talk that Jai would be continuing the Die Hard franchise when Willis exits. I think he's the type of actor Edgar Wright would be considering for Pym or Lang. It's been mentioned Ant-Man would be a high-tech spy film so Jai could be in the right age-range for something like this. He's also new enough that he doesn't have that many commitments to other projects so Marvel could wrap him up in one of their lengthly contracts.




Pair Jai up with the uber bubbly Alison Brie as Janet van Dyne and it's a perfect combo for an Edgar Wright film..

No to Jai Courtney. From the little I know of Pym he strikes me as a workaholic scientist first, superhero second, Courtney just seems all wrong for that.
