I'm watching The Verdict right now. I miss Sidney Lumet. He brought such beautiful restraint to his work. He never pushed for effect; he gave his characters space. They dictated how he told a story. He understood how powerful a close up can be. There isn't a single wasted shot in The Verdict.

I was wondering how the Sundance Channel could possibly follow up The Verdict.
Fargo. Checkmate, Sundance Channel. Well played. |

Not great, but I enjoyed "Hitchcock", a sweet little film. I wish it had focused more on Psycho and Perkins though.

I enjoyed it too, but more focus on the making of Psycho would have been nice.

I really like that ending scene where he talks about thinking up a new idea for his next film and Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
![]() I was really surprised they had those scenes with Ed Gein thrown in there. |

Maybe my favorite Hitchcock film, after Psycho.

Yeah, I was surprised to see him in this. Can't remember the last time I've seen him in a movie. Out of all the movies I've seen(or at least seen the actors who've portrayed him)about Ed Gein, he actually looked the closest to the real Ed Gein.

Me too. I agree he did look a lot like Gein. According to the director, he would sit in his own corner on set, all alone, not talking to anyone.

So jealous right now.
Do you think it's one of his best films to date? |
