You need to see my rating for Ghost Rider films, 4/10 and the sequel gets a 3/10
Avengers gets an 8/10
Spider-Man films range from 7-8.5/10

So, what's your favorite CBM?

Avengers, Watchmen or TDK, I'd say. But neither of them are near a 10. My respect for someone's opinion kind of drops when they throw 9s and 10s at films like that, a 9 is really good film and a 10 is a masterpiece.

And btw., do you include SM3 in that 7-8.5 range?

Pretty close between The Dark Knight, Avengers and Spidey 2 for me. Those are 9s and 10s in my book. Ill give the edge to Dark Knight though.

That's funny, my respect for someone's opinion plummets when they start being snide and sarcastic about another's opinion. If Aziz genuinely enjoyed those films enough to give them 9's and 10's, what's the problem?

You say "...10 is a masterpiece" but keep in mind, what's a masterpiece to one person isn't necessarily a masterpiece to the next.

And FYI, I do try to be conservative with my scores, and use up the whole scale. Of course, I can only compare them to the other movies I've seen, and I have seen embarrassingly few "classics". IF we're doing this rating business, this is how I rank the ones that I've seen...

I loved The Rocketeer! It's an awesome movie. For some reason when I think of Comic Book Films it never pops into my brain, but definitely worth a mention!

The Dark Knight Rises/The Dark Knight (I think TDKR was a better representation of the character but had far more stupid moments than the TDK, which had better writing on a technical level, So I rank them equally as they each fulfill certain criteria for me)

The Dark Knight wins out for me, X2, The Avengers, Watchmen DC, Spiderman 2 and to a lesser extent TDKR all come close, but TDK is still tops for me.

See, I'm not disagreeing with his opinions, I am question his rating system (which, if it is to hold any meaning to anyone but him, should be more or less standardized). Also, if one gets offended by a mildly wry comment like that, then I don't really feel sorry for that person. It was in no way meant offensive.

Still, not commenting on opinions. Just saying that if you are to give a movie a 10/10, then it should be really good, on several levels.
