i'm about to read the book for the third time.
i like how the movie poster is reminiscent of the original green covered edition of the book (which is the one i have)

Loved the book, loved the movie. You're definitely gonna see this on lots of end of year lists. I know it's on mine lol. It didn't break any BO records (limited releases throughout) but it was a hit with fans and audiences alike. So glad, could have easily been ruined.
I think the DVD comes out in January if I'm not mistaken.

I love, love, love this film. Went to see it for Emma, who was great, and ended up loving every last bit of it. Ended up seeing it 4 times in theaters.
It hits blu-ray and DVD on Feb. 12.

i've read the book 3 times and i've seen it once because it was so far away to see and in select theatres.
loved Lerman as Charlie and Ezra as Patrick. I wish they had more of the storylines with Charlie's family (ie: parents, the Mia storyline, grandpa) i know they couldn't put it all in there, but i wouldve liked to see more family stuff |

I think they could of got more in there. It is a relatively short film. I definitely wanted more with his sister. When he calls her at the end, the concern is written all over her face. It is kind of heartbreaking.

i really liked that scene albeit different from the book. but yeah, he has great storylines in the book with his sis and they were pretty much ignored, which is a shame i think it couldve made the film even better

After seeing the film I start looking up the original book to see what might have been cut, and yeah there seemed to be a lot of material that would have worked great in the context of the film that was made.

This was beautiful... my favorite of the year.
Weird, that my last four yearly favs are; '09 (500) Days Of Summer '10 Blue Valentine '11 The Beginners '12 Perks Of Being A Wallflower ...all very honest films about life, love, and friendships.

I also love The Beginners. I don't know if Perks is my #1, but it is definitely in my top 5 and one of my favorites I know I will keep going back to.

I read that a lot of the stuff left out of the movie was actually filmed but just didn't make the cut because it made the film TOO depressing. And I read they'll be the deleted scenes on the DVD. So yay lol!
