That's it! That's why I thought it would be weird, I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Storm and Gambit had quite a bit of interaction in 2000's in Xtream X Men, where Gambit and Storm actually kissed, and she admitted that for the first time she was jealous of Rogue. That was the first time I thought, hmmmm, that could be interesting done right. The friendship dynamic was brought out again in the Gambit/Storm vampire story, and their scenes in the X-23 series. |

With mutants being jump started again there are lots of new people out there to be actualized by a clever mind, though I for one, don't care if his new love interest is a mutant or not.

![]() GAMBIT #11 JAMES ASMUS (W) • CLAY MANN (A/C) • Desperate to learn the lady thief’s secret, Gambit joins Joelle on a heist that may even be too much for him to handle…especially when the villainous Tombstone gets involved! • And when Gambit’s in over his head, who will answer his call for help? Here’s a hint: She’s the feisty, green-clad, roguish Uncanny Avenger featured on the cover! And she may just have an opinion of her own on Gambit’s extracurricular activities… 32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

It was only a matter of time, sadly.
Lets just hope they remember this is a Gambit series when they write the lines between the two, and not a Rogue Fanboy Explosion like the rest of the X-Universe has become.

I'm fully expecting to see Rogue show Gambit how to throw a card or steal better in that arc.

I don't think we need to worry too much. Asmus was asked about this in an interview I read, and he was pretty clear that Rogue wasn't there to be a romantic interest. Maybe it will be the opportunity for Remy to say goodbye to Rogue for good in a mature, adult manner....or is that too much to hope for?????

Finally got hold of a lot of issues of Gambit and Astonishing X Men: I am very pleased with both. Gambit is a roller coaster of fun, and Astonishing has that group dynamic that has been missing from so many X titles lately.

Yeah, I hope they don't take him off the Astonishing team. It's a good fit.

Meh. Not really a fan of Astonishing tbh. I am thoroughly please with Gambit though. Asmus is doing a great job. And I don't mind Rogue appearing. It may provide some closure. Like it or not, she is an extremely important part of his character history.

Good article! I am enjoying Asmus' take on Gambit, and the stories so far have been very enjoyable. Now if we could get a Gambit cameo in Days of Future Past taking down a sentinel, I can die happy... |

Yeah, that's a nice outfit. Though I wouldn't like to see it every issue. Still not too fond of his default outfit for the series. Seems altogether bland. It just doesn't have the personality of the classic Gambit costume. I feel the same way about Rogue's green outfit. It just isn't as half as good as the costume she wore on the 90's toon.
Also, Gambit/Rogue 4 ever!
