True, but what does my strip club habit have to do with anything?

On the subject of Fraction's Iron Man from earlier... I really enjoyed it while I was reading it, but had to drop it. My one BIG complaint was that he would stretch a 3 issue arc over 6-8 issues. I really hate how focused comics have become on telling 4-8 issue arcs to collect in trades instead of just telling stories, whether they be 1 issue or basically just ongoing. For an example of what I mean by "ongoing"... I recently finally read the Walking Dead Compendium 1. It's 48 issues, and while there are "book" breaks, I feel like each issue just fed into the next for the entire 48 issues.

Honestly, I don't quite get why anyone enjoyed Fraction's IM at all. Tony just wasn't characterized in an interesting way at all. He was pretty wholly bland and unlikeble, IMO. And he still is being written that way be Gillen, I think.
The Knaufs did a tons better job, and yet everyone seems to not give a **** about their run.

Really? Gosh, I'm enjoying it. I don't think it's amazing, but it's good. What I think IS amazing is Matt's Hawkeye series.

It's probably because you're 14 and have never read the Knaufs' run.

I've only read 2 or 3 issues of Knauf's run and I'll agree that it seemed really good. That was right before Fraction came on, right? Knaufs on Iron Man: Director of SHIELD and Fraction came on with Invincible Iron Man... or something like that? I read the first issue post-Civil War and the two World War Hulk tie-ins... all three were good. I just couldn't afford to buy the title regularly.

Yeah, exactly.
I wasn't too impressed by Ellis's Iron Man either. Extremist was brilliant as a concept, but his actual narrative was hardly compelling. |

You know, I bought the Extremis arc after it came out and never did get around to reading it. Then I realized it was selling for a lot more than I paid for it and sold the thing. I know the arc after that sucked. That one I read and sent off to Half Priced Books with a smile.

The knaufs started with issue 7? The arc previous to Civil War? I thought they came on with issue 15 (I think) after Civil War.

I've been getting Iron Man since the Knaufs and I don't hate Fraction's run. It's nowhere near as good as the Knaufs' run and it kinda petered out at the end, but overall it was good. Especially during Dark Reign.

Just read something on Newsarama that got me a little excited. The topic was discussing characters who were missing in the Marvel NOW world.
