Don't hold out for a price drop... Nintendo doesn't do them unless the system's life span is up or if sales are slow (example: 3DS when it first hit at 250). Sales are good and it obviously has a few years left in it.

Nintendo's next software update will be focusing on the slow loading times and Nintendo TVii will be released tomorrow.

you don't think in a few years the Wii U will be $50 cheaper or so?

I suppose it also depends on how competitive the next Xbox and PS are.......

Maybe in 6-7 years you'll find a Wii U for $50. And if you do, it will either be a launch model or a gimped one like Wii's that don't have GC support should they ever release one.

If money is an issue, get a console around Black Friday when there are usually generous gift card deals at retailers. The best way to save money is on the games. Wait for B2G1 free or B1G1 50% off.

Yea that sucks...I'm returning it and getting sine wii motes....sucks but was wwanting to play multiplayer on Mario Bros.....I just figured it would be compatible like the wing was for the wii

I recently got a Wii U and don't really know much about it, but shouldn't I be able to go download old nintendo games from my childhood to play on this? I see the words Virtual Console around here and online, is that what that is? Is it not working?

The Virtual Console is not yet up for the Wii U's eShop. In order to use the Virtual Console, you need to go to the Wii Menu and go to the Wii Shop Channel and you can access the Virtual Console from there. You will need a Wii Remote and a Classic Controller as well. I will say though, I'm getting kinda miffed that there is no Virtual Console up for the Wii U. My Wii System Memory attached to the Wii U is almost full thanks to all the VC games I have on it and I'd rather use the Wii U's hard drive to store my games on it as opposed to the few memory blocks I have.

Yeah, there's no excuse as to why the VC isn't up on the WiiU yet. They better have some sweet titles on there when it does get put up.
