I think people do have more ideas, but I think it's hard for some of them to explain without a visual aid, or they don't know how to draw what it is they want.

If they do go ahead with a Justice League movie it obviously wouldn't be as dark as the recent Batman movies. This is a great reason to finally move away from the all Black batsuit. Can you imagine the brightly colored Superman alongside a dark all black (suited) Batman? I, personally don't think it would look right. For me the Batsuit would have to be grey - like in the comic books.

Something like this, perhaps

Something along the lines of the new 52 with a different cowl, belt, and armor design would be cool.
Basically I like the idea of a trunkless suit thats made of a grey armor. The new 52 bat chest emblem is ****, and I dont like the belt at all. But they got the idea of grey trunkless armor right.

I dont want to see the curved bat horns on the cowl like in Nolans, Id like to see longer and straighter horns for the new Bat cowl

The symbol looks fine IMO.

Could you provide some examples of the first point? This is an honest question. I haven't really seen one.

And Catwoman is a bit of an apples and oranges argument. Her look wasn't really designed for combat as much as it was for theft, as far as ther TDKR plot went. You can make a real argument that she actually needs the mobility more than someone like Batman, and doesn't need an much protection.

I think they should go with the Batman Earth One Costume

The suit should and must be based on Bob Kane's version. Go on YouTube and check the birth of the joker. That is the suit, if not the Dead End suit.

grey & black suit like in the New 52 is the best way to go

wouldn't mind seeing the yellow oval over the bat symbol come back

I think the reboot will follow the new trend of intricately textured hero costumes (not that I have a problem with that) and will feature something similar to the comics costume, although hopefully with a very dark gray.

Honestly, in movies, all something requires to be "bulletproof" is for a character to say it's bulletproof. Nothing he's worn so far could actually stop a bullet in real life.

That's a good point. We've seen a variety of different materials mentioned in comics and movies with all kinds of advantages. To go one steps further, there have been a lot of different variations of Batman. Some have him surviving gun shots and others have him dodging everything to show off his agility. I guess it depends on what the storyteller decides.

Well it starts with movie's having a fundamental misunderstanding of the word "bullet proof" and evoking images of Superman with bullets harmlessly bouncing off his chest.

In reality bulletproof vests (et. all) do no such thing. Bullets carry velocity, and the kevlar in the vest slows down that velocity, but it's still going to transfer some to the object, i.e. the person wearing said armor. So there's still a high potential for broken bones, bruising, scarring and even penetration, however it vastly decreases the odds of mortality. So Batman just walking around like normal after being shot is not very realistic at all. That's more what I was getting at.

So in the end spandex, armor, stuff like what we've seen already is all really about the same degree of unreality when you get down to it.

I think that might be going a *bit* far. The audience is willing to buy stuff as bulletproof that is not possible in real life, but there's a difference between selling moderately thick cloth/leather/whatever as bulletproof, and selling something that looks an awful lot like thin spandex as bulletproof. Intuitively, "armor" means "thick".

I'd be fine with the Inc. suit or Arkham City's suit minus the underwear.

I was just kidding. You're right, it would need to be at least somewhat believable visually as well.

To be honest, I'm not sure that Batman really needs anything to be bulletproof.

Given that Batman isn't supposed to be an outright superhuman wuxia badass who can duck around bullets? It really helps giving him at least some degree of body armor, selling his ability to do what he does. The alternative is to make him a little too dependent on plot luck rather than character ability.

I like to think it's just the chest that is armoured/bulletproof. Hence the emblem to attract the shooter's eye. Agility wouldn't allow for heavy armour. (British Spelling)
