When I saw both of them at Comic Con early this year I thought Burt looked about right/average for his age... where as Adam West looks like he's in his late 50's.

"Batman" aired for three seasons on ABC between 1966 and 1968 and featured returning talent like Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin, Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt.

Due to legal complications, "Batman" has never been available on DVD but with news of a toy line on the way, it's likely we'll be seeing the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder finally hit the format sometime next year.

The magazine also reveals that Mattel will continue the "DC Super Friends" line, introduce a new line for 2014 based on the upcoming "Beware the Batman," "refresh" DC's adult collector line and continue their "evergreen" Batman figures in a line called "Power Attack." Naturally, next summer's Man of Steel will also receive a tie-in toy line.

I feel like the dvd release announcement is upon us.

Do you think we may end up getting it on bluray with a lot of extras? That would be really worth the wait, and they did a great job with the bluray of batman the movie.

We should be since there is ALOT of things that they can include. Iv'e actually made a list of the things that that they can include in a release of the series. But you'll have to wait until when i post my 1966 Batman project to see it.

Well as long as you guys have a copy of the movie either DVD on Blu-ray that would be a great start. But i would also recommend the legends of the superhero specials, the Holy Batmania DVD, the Return to Batcave tv movie and the Adam West Naked DVD which is an episode by episode commentary on the series.

The DVD release topic comes up often and it sadly always fades away with no result. Though I'm more optimistic about it. Looking forward to seeing what products they offer in any case. Time will tell.

They should at least try and get the remaining cast together at some point to reflect on a few featurettes and commentaries. That way they could save them for any future releases.

After all, Adam West willl be 85 this year and Julie Newmar will be 80. It would be nice if they could reminisce whilst watching the show.

That would be great. They probably already have some footages and interviews they keep just in case though. Anyway, the release of some new toys is a great sign, 2013 may finally be the year they release the show. I'm really hoping for a bluray release (just a dvd release would be great of course), as they did a fine job with the Batman The movie BR.

Adam West already did a DVD about his time on the BATMAN series.
I have consider buying it but I never did.
