I'm not too fond of the LOTR trilogy. They bored me to tears, great cinematography and props though. Nolan's Batman trilogy - not a fan at all, and it puzzles me because I love everything he's touched outside of Batman. Everything. 300. One of the worst films I've ever seen in my life. Likes: The Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions - Excellent films that I found entertaining on all levels. So many memorable monologues throughout the entire trilogy, but I felt that Reloaded had the best ones. The only thing I never really bought was the romance between Trinity and Neo. Felt unnecessarily shoehorned in the first movie, and continued throughout the trilogy as a necessity. Timecop - I really dig this movie, as well as several of Van Damme's older flicks, for that matter. Watchmen - I thought it was a very solid film. Everything from the acting, characterizations, writing, action, and cinematography was incredibly well executed IMO. |

I think many people are way too harsh on Amazing Spider-Man. I think the problem lies in that for many parts we've seen this movie before, but on its own merits I think it's a fine movie. Some of the complaints, like calling it terrible and on one thread "The Greeen Lantern of Marvel's movies" (yes, this includes not just Marvel Studios) is very unfair. Some of the blame also its in the false and botched marketing because of more boneheaded Sony decisions like removing subplots at the last minute.
Is it better than Spider-Man 1? It's hard to say. The characterization of Peter Parker and the love interest is better. I also like the relationship between Captain Stacy and Peter which adds another dimension that the Spider-Man 1 didn't have. But the villain is better in Spider-Man 1. Rhys Ifans is no Wiliam Dafoe and Green Goblin was infinitely better. Maybe it's because I couldn't help but think that Lizard was a lackey. The action sequences were also better in Spider-Man 1. I just got a bigger feeling of spectacle for Spider-Man 1. Maybe because it was the first Spider-Man movie. But nevertheless, I see what Sony wanted to do with ASM. The point of ASM wasn't to hit a home run or even compete wit Avengers or TDKR, but rather to reestablish a franchise in a different direction. They did that successfully. Sony knew that they were going to take hit for this movie but they decided to do it in order for a bigger sequel. Now that the origin is out the way, ASM 2 will be bigger and I believe it will be even better. |

I actually thought Green Lantern was a decent superhero film.

Not familiar with the books, but I thought Cruise was excellent (as usual) in Jack Reacher. Fun fight scenes and cool car chase too. Not a great film but a good little action flick, with a cool 70's feel, and Werner Herzog as the bad guy
Also looking forward to Oblivion after seeing the trailer in front of Reacher. Felt a bit like Silent Running or even Wall E or something.

Not enough but he has a couple of good scenes and he is pretty creepy
![]() Funny to think that Klaus Kinski, had he been alive, would have been great in this role too

I was much more impressed by Channing Tatum's comedic performance in 21st Jump St than by Wahlberg's in Ted.

I agree. Was surprised by him in that film, I don't think I've ever seen him in a comedy before that.

I like Wahlberg and don't doubt his comedic talent. I just said that I was more impressed by what Tatum did in 21st than what Wahlberg did in Ted.

He was funnier than Will Ferrell. And I like Will Ferrell.

You guys are just listing why The Other Guys and Jump Street are two of the best comedies in the past few years.

Derek Jeter getting shot is still one of the funniest moments I've ever seen in a movie. So are the scenes when Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are on drugs. |

If Green Lantern had been released in, say, 1998 with the exact same script and plot (different actors, of course), it probably would have been much better received in a world before TDK, Iron Man, Spider-Man, etc. I still think it's a piece of **** though.

What's even more irritating is that I think the powers of the character are so interesting, could've been used so much better. It's such a shame the movie turned out that bad.
The villain portrayal was just awful. (Those masturbation-like movements and sounds in the bed were hilarious) |

-I did not like Black Widow in Avengers at all. I wish she'd be replaced by a different character

Didn't like the film or any of their latest collaborations for that matter, but I thought Depp was really good in Burton's "Dark Shadows."
