Daniel Craig is my first choice as Lex! He'd be an awesome Lex!
Mark Miller agrees! Quote:

And for the 1 billionth time, someone nominates Fassbender for a role. I think every other page on this thread has his name on it...

He's a very good actor, but there are others who could pull Lex off better.

Fassbender's role in 300 wasn't any more substantial than other roles he'd had up to that point, so I'd say if anyone deserves credit for "discovering" him and showing the world that this was a great actor, it would be Steve McQueen, who gave him his first really meaty lead role 2 years later in Hunger.

Actually casting for Lex is a lot more fun that for Superman, as everyone is going to be much less forgiving if Superman does no seem perfect. There is more room with Lex. I'm still thinking some Auditions given to off choice actors is a good idea. For all we know Shia Labeouf gets an Audition and comes off scary as all hell for example. - unless he only can act in one kind of character. Just an off example, but the point is Lex needs to come across as VERY socially dominant, imposing AND charasmatic. He does not need to be ugly or old or even have very specific facial features. Dominant, imposing, charasmatic. |

I'm up for Guy Pierce in the role. I watched him in the Prometheus promo playing the young Weyland, and thought he was awesome. Then I watched Lockout and thought he was awful. Then I watched Lawless, and thought he was awesome again.
Lawless in particular shows you how can he play a fairly intelligent, polished and well spoken individual ................. who is nonetheless totally slimey and unlikeable. |

Guy Pearce in Lockout (Space Jail) is the best performance of the year.

Not sure that I would go as far to say it was the best performance of the year, but I LOVED 'Lockout'. I would definitely not be opposed to Guy Pearce as Lex.
