I really hope the suit they use is a lot different from the one used in Avengers.

If Cap does get a new suit, would you rather he start the film with it and have no explanation for the change? Or should he start with "The Avengers" costume and upgrade to another version of the suit for a purpose, ala Batman in "The Dark Knight"?

No explanation is really necessary, unless there's some special Chekhov's Gun thingy about it that should be explained.

I'd like him to just go back to his first one. They could even do it mid-way through the film; explaining he is doing it to try and trigger Bucky's memory or something.

that's just silly
too late now, sorry folks he's not going back to the TFA suit something like the Avengers suit but with more muted colors might not be bad tho, now that they don't have to fit him in with the other characters.

It needs a chinstrap. The neck portion of the suit just looks so awkward without one.

Out of all the costumes in the Avengers Cap was probably my least favorite, so I hope they change a good deal of it. I wasn't a fan of how most of it looked like clothe. I'd rather them go with a more armored look, but not a clunky and over-designed one. The picture posted on page 9 is in the right direction, but still falls under the 'clunky and over-designed' category I mentioned.
And no, I think it's safe to say we aren't going to see the TFA look unless it's in a flashback which is fine with me. It was perfect in a WWII setting, not in a modern one.

No explanation for a costume change is needed imo; I happen to think that the audience goes into these things expecting some sort of natural evolution/progression in many aspects of the characters life in the duration of time lapsed since we saw him last. An improved and enhanced costume would just be one of those things.

They changed Thors outfit and hammer from his movie to the avengers without an explanation, and changed jt again for his next solo movie. If they're going to do that to a Norse god, they would definitely do that to Captain America as well. No ones gonna bat an eye over it

Bring back the old WWII outfit!! He's worn that same uniform even after he was thawed from the ice, in the comics. It was practical for combat. And he doesnt look as skinny in that one!

well, let's not get into what they did to Batman's suit in the movies, that's a treacherous road
But in general, yes, the closer you can get to the classic comic suit without it being goofy, the better

The suit is fine for the most part, the one problem the cowl, if they brought back the chin-strap helmet, it would look a lot better.

Half a chin strap.

The chin strap looked great, I have nothing against a return in the sequel

I think it will be great if Cap' got his Marvel-Now-!-Costume , like in this cover by McNiven :
![]() I think it's a little more modern-soldier outfit |

Yeah, people have been pointing to the Marvel Now costume as hopefully being a source of inspiration for Cap 2 and I really like that idea as well.
