Yeah, great actresses stand out for something other than being attractive. If you think Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams are getting the parts they get because they're that much sexier than Rachel Nichols and Megan Fox, you're missing half the movie you're watching.

Really? Last movie I remember her from was Skeleton Key - a film that was as forgettable as The Reaping.

For some reason Megan Fox is still popular. I even saw her on a Samsung commercial.
![]() No doubt her name will be mentioned again when Warners Bros. mentions Wonder Woman again.

@ Dr. Cosmic, would you have preferred Cobie Smulders as Wonder Woman, if Whedon had not cast her as agent Maria Hill in Avengers ?
I am wondering how would she do as WW. (As you have a Cobir Smulders avvy.) |

No producer in their right mind would cast Carano in a tentpole film like WW. It's just not going to happen. Ever.

As for Haley, this is Hollywood, remember? The last actress to play Fire didn't exactly inspire much. Might as well find someone with talent to play a Brazilian with green hair.

Then they probably shouldn't give the role to an American next time.

Oops. Yeah, it's the Big 7. But I consider the Atom and Black Canary to be worthy members.

I thought Regan was pretty darn good in one episode of 'Person of Interest'. All the while I was watching the episode I kept thinking to myself, "Who is this gorgeous redhead? I hope they bring her back!" The funny thing is, I didn't even recognize her even though I knew who she was! Probably because she had her natural red hair on the show, and I only really knew her from the various Wonder Woman forums (I'd never actually seen an episode of 'Legend of the Seeker'). Anyhoo, she came off as really interesting on the show (beyond her drop dead gorgeous looks) and really lit up the screen whenever she was on. She seems to have that 'it' factor that elevates 'stars' from "run of the mill" beautiful actors. ![]()

Even though Gina Carano is so bad acting she can't even pull of a simple American accent...(the joke being that she is American), I'd still prefer her

Highly acclaimed by the Reganites, not by anybody else. From Wikipedia--
"The series premiere, which consisted of the first two episodes, received generally mixed reviews from critics, earning a 53 out of 100 average rating as calculated by Metacritic. It was criticized for not being as "fun" as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess (also produced by Robert Tapert and Sam Raimi), and not having enough excitement. Another major complaint about the show was its lack of distinguishing features and that it was "too derivative of other works" like Star Wars, The Matrix, and The Wheel of Time, with the "300-style" slow-motion action sequences often cited as an example. Brian Lowry from Variety called the show "a hodgepodge of better sci-fi/fantasy fare", while Ray Richmond from The Hollywood Reporter described it as "[b]ig on style but more challenged in terms of substance" with "too little provocative/evocative interaction aside from the ultra-violent kind." Keaton had already done Beetlejuice, She's Having a Baby, Gung Ho, and Mr. Mom before Batman. If anything, his career went slightly downhill after. Reeves was building a pretty decent career in the theater before Superman. In any case, Reagan has always maintained a thriving television career, so it's not like she's *just* a model.

I actually like some other people for WW too. My list looks something like
1) Emily Blunt(I'm sold after Looper) 2) Annie Wersching 3) Mary Elizabeth Winstead 4) Bridget Regan 5) Lynn Collins 6) Gina Carano(who according to rumors and reports seems to have the role already and will appear in MOS). |
