Good to see Thor is leading in votes! I'd take Thor, Cap, and TIH over Iron Man anyday. But they are all excellent films.

As some guys have said before, it's an incredibly fun movie and highly rewatchable!
So, it's my favorite from the solo movies, ranking #2 if we include The Avengers.

I finally got around to seeing Thor for the first time yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed it very much! I would rate this as the third best MCU film behind IM1 and TA.

Mind if I ask what makes CA and TIH the top two? Those were, imo the weakest of them. Not bad, by any means....just not as good as IM1, TA, or IM3.

How is Thor better than Iron Man ?

Robert Downey Jr > Chris Hemsworth.

Gwyneth Paltrow > Natalie Portman. (in the movie.)

Jeff Bridges > Tom Hiddleston.

Terrance Howard > Warriors Three.

At no point in either story was I bored or something pulled me out of it. I just can't say that about any of the other ones

Also, I think Chris Evans nailed Cap perfectly he's my favorite MCU character next to Stark.

With Hulk, the only thing I thought was missing was the feeling that "Hulk is strongest there is!!" He was strong, not THAT strong, but other than that it was very solid IMO

My favorite Marvel movie at the moment is Avengers. But if we're going solo, then I'd still give the trophy to Iron man. Thor comes in at a close second.

For the most part all the marvel stand alone films have been good. But they've also been quite safe. Iron Man and Thor were the only two that took small risks. Iron Man with casting an actor that was older in a genre dominated by younger men, and basically being okay with letting him put his own quirky spin on the character. Thor for actually starting to get in-depth with a more sympathetic villain.

However, I'd like to see the next phase of Marvel films push the envelope. I want to see them take a few more risks. just from a storytelling aspect.
