Well like it or not it probably has more to do with overall interest level then anything on why there was a JL sub-form before FF. I just want one so those who want to campaign against Fox mishandling of Marvel characters can do so and those who are confident in the direction Fox will go with their so-called "Shared Universe" can be there..

Not sure how Fox can handle a shared universe with just X-Men and Fantastic Four and I doubt they will. Maybe with their future X-Men movies, but that's about it.

Justice League got a sub-forum before WB even officially announced it was being made. Actually, as far as I know they still haven't made an announcement and it doesn't have a release date. Guardians of the Galaxy was announced and had a release date for a couple of weeks before it got a forum, and only then because people went to the Tech forum and requested one. Maybe FF will get a section of its own if people who care ask the mods for one. I thought about making a request back when Fox announced the film's premiere date, but frankly I can't muster up enough interest.

What you could do, and what we did this past July for GOTG and Ant-Man, is to start a bunch of new threads regarding the 2015 Fantastic Four film in the Marvel Films subforum. You can have one thread asking for a new subforum, another asking why there isn't a new subforum, and another polling people whether or not they think there should be a new subforum... haha just kidding. More like a Casting Thread, a Villain Thread, a Costume thread etc. That would bring attention to the SHH admins to the need for a separate subforum for this movie. I'd say go for it! Just don't be trollish about it.

Millar isn't writing scripts for Fox. His role seems to be roughly analogous to that of Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios, minus all the vision, drive, creativity and experience that Feige has at his disposal.

And any of the power. After the Avengers, Whedon could have named his price to write and helm the FF reboot or the Justice League film. It is highly unlikely he would have agreed to a long term contract without any real authority over Marvel's Phase II. Millar had none of Whedon's bargaining power, and its unlikely he has any real control over Fox's upcoming superhero films.

It's not about "control" though.


It's simply about being an "ideas" man, and making sure the films connect properly and have continuity. And so far that's what he's doing. The Wolverine will tie into DoFP because of Millar.

well... i was under the impression Millar is not only doing that.. but basically a "marvel knowledge liaison" to make sure the films are being truthful and respectful to the comics and making sure they don't screw things up.

Without "control", Millar's ideas will likely fall on deaf ears. I have no idea how Millar's role differs from Whedon's, just that Whedon had the juice to have decision making authority written into his contract.

The Wolverine is going to set up DOFP that much is clear. They've already referred to as their "launching pad" in the same sense Iron Man was Marvel's "launching pad". From there I guess they split the X-Men movieverse in the same sense Star Trek 2009 did with its previous Star Trek films. I make the Star Trek comparison because I believe that a lot of First Class was inspired by that film and the idea of an alternate timeline being created through time travel is also pulled directly from that. Anyway, FF will be able to fit into this newly rebooted timeline as a result of DOFP.

i don't see why they'd care about FF and X-men co-existing in the same universe... the FF and X-men share absolutely nothing besides Onslaught and that horrible powerswapping/merging team up from a few years ago...

I think you have the wrong idea of how they're going to go about this. They're not going to be showing up in each others' films or even necessarily teaming up. They'll share the same universe and the films will use some of the same elements and reference each other, but the films will stand on their own. We're so far away from a team-up film with this we shouldn't even be talking about how they would pull it off. I think we'll get a Deadpool movie before we get a FF/X-Men team-up film.

but what exactly would the be sharing then? syncing up the films just seems pointless..
