Imo a big resounding yes! I won't say any thing more than that it is definitely
Tarantino's love letter to the genre.
Looking forward to knowing what you think about it.

Life of Pi.
I didn't really want to see it in the 1st place and didn't connect with the film's religious themes, but I was really impressed by the technical prowess and the fact that they didn't attempt to anthropomorphize any of the animals featured in the film.
Also amazing f%%$*g CGI Tiger!
Hats off to Mr. Ang Lee for bringing this to screen.

Zero Dark Thirty. I liked it even better than Argo which I liked a lot.
Bigelow is really a fantastic director.

My girlfriend and I just finished watching the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films and were both really impressed. Loved the humor, characters, style. Unusually for a trilogy, all three films were as good as each other.

John Carter

Wow! Based off the response to it I wasn't even expecting to watch it all the way through, but this was a great film! Tons of fun, awesome action, funny, fantastic story, cool locations, wicked aliens, big battles, it had it all. A real shame it didn't do better at the Box Office, from what I understand that was mostly down to poor marketing. Or did people just not like it in general?

End of Watch. Maybe not great, but pretty good and that's enough for me nowadays.

The Hobbit. I'm not sure I consider it great but it's at least a very good movie. I might up it to great when I have all 3 films to enjoy as one long movie.

The last movie I've seen that has stuck with me and has really made me think was Man From Earth. I'm sure many would consider it to be very boring as it is just a group of people having a discussion for the entire movie... but it was so enthralling/captivating for me and it had a very resounding effect on me.

I also liked BR more than HG. I thought that besides the fact that they kinda got there first, it was more weird, cruel and overall more original and daring.
That said I enjoyed HG too, especially the book and don't mind that they're tackling the same kind of story, since the execution is different.
Now, I can't wait for a remake of Running Man done right.

Richard Linklater's "Bernie." I'm surprised I haven't heard more about this film. Jack Black and Shirley McLaine are pretty great in this.

Cloud Atlas. It had a lot of flaws, but to pull off what they did and not have it be a complete disaster was an epic achievement.
