You should look into "Essential Spider-Man." In the U.S., each book is about $25 and contains about 25 issues. Only thing is that they are in black and white.

Not if you order from amazon.uk so you don't have to pay for international shipping.

I think that Marvel Studios should make a Marvel Knights Universe, which could have The Punisher, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Blade, etc. This is where they could have some Rated R movies for these characters. Quote:

Thomas Jane was still on the project until 2006 I believe when he just dropped out after the script went through re-write after re-write.

I remember SHH! posting a short blog Jane wrote about how he was resigning from War Zone because he felt he could not commit to the final version, given his passion for the character and what not. Something to that effect.
Actually seeing as how Punisher's first appearance was in Spider-Man I think the ASM creative team could come up with a neat story featuring Spider-Man and the Punisher. Not that it would happen. |

I love when actors show so much heart and passion for a comic book character! I wonder if Jane was a fan of Punisher even before his first Punisher film or if he became that in the process.
It's like how Ryan Reynolds is such a big comic book fan, especially Deadpool. I can't wait 'til we see a proper Deadpool with Reynolds in the role. Are there more examples of this? Andrew Garfield is a fan of Spidey but I wouldn't say it's in the same way Jane for example is passionate about Punisher or Reynolds about Deadpool.

Don't forget Christian Bale has mentioned many times his favorite piece of work with Batman is Dark Victory.

I would say Garfield is the most prominent example of the lead actor being a fan of the source material. He has been a fan since childhood. From reading one of his interviews before the movie came out I got the impression Garfield's history with Spider-Man was a lot like my own, or the majority of us posting here.
Reynolds didn't have the balls to speak up against the butchered version of his beloved character that showed up in Wolverine. Nicholas Cage has a Ghost Rider tattoo and participated in 2 butcheries. I commened Jane for putting his love for the character before his paycheck. (Granted War Zone wouldn't of added to much to his bank account.) Who knows though, maybe they were just genuinely excited and grateful just to play dress up as their heroes. I don't think Bale can be mentioned with those others because he wasn't reading any of those comics before he was cast. But that doesn't take anything away from his performance of course. You don't think Bale was? What makes you say that?

It's never said when Bale first read Dark Victory. Only that's his favorite.

He has said he didn't read any Batman before getting the role. Nolan assigned the cast comics to read, like homework. I'd imagine its the norm in most cases for CBMs.
I've yet to read Dark Victory myself actually. |

Dark Victory was never assigned though with BB, TDK or TDKR even.

Well that's pretty cool, that tells me perhaps he enjoyed what he read enough to seek out some more Batman books of his own accord.

Wowsers. Been a while since I was on here.
(A belated new years to everyone) For those of you who had ever followed or read my Spider-movie series, I've just put up the very last entry on my blog http://fenskeland.blogspot.ca/2013/0...ider-word.html It's mostly a mish-mash of all the final little points I've wanted to make about the film, but couldn't work into any of my previous posts. I doubt I'll be changing anyone's mind (for those of you who prefer Raimi's offerings) at this point in the game, but I thought I'd put it up here for posterity.
