This one's not bad. I actually think all of these would work for a movie.

Not bad? That's some of the best artwork I've seen in who knows how long! But really, I love the padding, it's very superheromovie-ish. I also love how it translates from padding to the fabric pattern. Very cohesive. My only problem is Cassandra Cain. Her mask is a bit alien-like for my tastes. The rest are perfect imo.

You do a better job of voicing my opinion than I do . I agree with everything.

I also think something like this wouldn't feel too much like a 'me-too' of the Nolan look, while still feeling sleek, serious, and grounded, not hokey, nor too gothic.

I love how robins mask doesn't look so cheesy and the batsuit looks great like the BB suit but a little better.

I think it's a wee bit too big.

But I think it does a good job of looking like a computer-visor thingy more-so than just a mask. .

At this point, seeing what the Nolan people and the Burton/Schumacher people did, I have come to the conclusion that while the possibilities are endless, Hollywood is not that imaginative and will likely give us another variation on the theme that was the B89 suit. That's what every other suit since then has been. I just actually want to see gray and black in the suit this time (not all black)

The further away they get from the comics, the worse the batsuit becomes IMO. I mean that bobble head/spring neck thing in TDK... WTF was that?

I think part of that is a fear of looking campy/silly. All of WB's recent successes have been with dark and/or serious portrayals, that do their best to avoid "comic book-y" elements.

That said, I think your stuck with the "spring neck." As the Cap costume in Avengers demonstrated, its basically impossible to make a cowl look right in live action, because cloth doesn't work that way.

Cap isn't a great example. They gave him a weird shaped helmet.

They kind of did that with the TDK suit. Its just that it looks awful.

I guess what I mean is that it seems that every Batman movie has had the exact same thing costume wise. If the create a cowl that is attached to the cape only and let the cape move freely, there is no reason why Batsey couldn't turn his head. As for the rest, anything but rubber would suffice as long as it is something we haven't seen before!

I really don't understand why WB is so afraid of going with grey and black. There are many ways you could do it.

They could have it look a bit padded or something that looks realistic.

I would go with the Batman Inc. look. It's the best modern Batman costume, IMO. And I would love to see the white eyes as the mask lenses.

I actually wouldn't even mind if they had an armor look, but had grey in it.

The pic of the Bat-Family has great designs! But I would change the Robin mask. I would put very dark grey on the Batman suit too.

Something like this would be cool! B-Man created this in the fan art section.

That design would be good as an alternate take, but it is still a little too busy for an actual film

Recently I heard a comment about Wonder Woman's costume, that when you get down to it in the comics it works but in the movies it would be a woman wearing a bathing suit, boots, silver wrist bands, and a tiara. And that would just come off as silly. Hard to make that look good.
So thats my thought on Batman's costume too. He has always had dark rubbery armor instead of his other costume because they are afraid that the audience will suddenly see its a man dressed as a bat running around.
They will probably always have him wear some sort of armor.
So, I would like to amend my suggestion. I still think he should have armor under fabric, but more armory looking fabric instead of his plain gray costume.

So instead of Batman just wearing armor like in the Nolan films, where you can see the shoulder blades and the chest plates like this:

, you still have some sort of fabric over it. But instead of it just being gray material like this:

its more armor like. something along similar lines as the cartoon version in Young Justice. But you can still have his costume get ripped or torn and show the armor under the suit:

I wouldn't just have him wearing straight, super detailed, armor. But I wouldn't have him wearing plain, none armored spandex.
Maybe a real mix/combination of the two. So that his gray fabric has an armor feel to it. But not just detailed armor.

I agree. There's no reason why the armor has to be a jigsaw puzzle. I think we can take for granted that, yes, there's probably protective armor under the fabric. And plus the battle damage would look cool.

Yes! This is what I've been saying! You can still have armor while having the classic look. The only thing I would change is the black underwear and change the logo to the classic yellow circle.

Not if you add a little armor, but then again....Batman should mostly in the dark and be veiwed as a shadowy figure on screen.
