Franco as a super hero? Don't think so. As Batman? Definately not!

No, you're not alone. I'm sure some studio execs have been drooling at the thought of it. But it's a terrible idea.

Because if you Clark Kent into a black kid, you change his entire cultural situation such that you end up with a completely different character ( or really bad writing in order to ignore all the things that would be different ). Superman's backstory really does require that he fit in as the ordinary every day Kansas farm boy, and anything that puts distance between him and that ideal causes problems. Kludges to try and patch the hole like "the Kents are themselves black ( probably the only black family in the whole county )" or "Clark is claimed to be adopted" are just that, kludges.

1: What is kludges?

2: What's wrong with either of those explanations?

3: Why can't a black kid be an ordinary everyday Kansas farm boy? Black people do live in Kansas. Some of them own farms.

Yeah, Hathaway 's got nothing on Palicki's figure. That's why I thought Kate Beckinsale would've made a better Catwoman. At least she has the body of a woman, and not an awkard 15 year old .

If Guillermo del Toro ever decides to make a movie about Justice League Dark, featuring Deadman, Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, and Phantom Stranger, I think that Brandon Routh would be a perfect choice to play Phantom Stranger.

I think Brittany Anne Pirtle, Emily from Power Rangers Samurai would make a good Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark).

James Cagney as Joker and you are done.

Back then, even though they were all well known actors nobody would have cared if they played popular characters, unlike today and our love affair with unknowns.
