Well it's that time of year again, christmas time for me always means a blu-ray viewing of BR to satisfy my holiday needs.

I back it up with Groundhog Day, Trading Places, Christopher Lee reading M.R. James' ghost stories and, weirdly, Cliffhanger.

I'm watching BR currently, and I caught something I never noticed before; the portrait of Max and Chip that's hanging in his office...

I remember noticing that as a kid watching it at home on vhs. There are still things to this day though that I notice that I never had before when I watch 89 or BR.

When I think of Catwoman/Selina on film, I still (and probably always) will think of Michelle. Nobody will remember Halle (for good reason), and Anne was great and proved me wrong (I didn't like and was against her casting originally), but I loved her in TDKR---she ended up being my favorite part of TDKR actually...but Michelle will always be the quintessential Catwoman on film---for me at least.
and that GIF is one of my favorite scenes. IIRC, wasn't 2012 also the big 20 for Returns...time certainly flies.

The colour saturation in that picture makes Bob Kane look like he fell asleep in a spaghetti Bolegnese.

Batman Reterns had the best Bat-Suit and Batmobile in live action.

I think I prefer this suit to the first. It screams Batman, especially in any shot over his shoulder.

Thought this was cool... this guy designed the Batmobile for Batman Forever but also worked on Batman Returns evidently...

Awesome find
Y'know, I was just thinking about it and I realized that I have very similar feelings about both TDKR and Returns. That is, both films I think are improvements over their predecessors in just about every way but the story. But while I thought the story in both BB and TDK was amazing and thus TDKR left me disappointed, I never cared for the story in '89 too much and so Returns is my favorite of the Burton films. |

That'skkinda strange, as I'd say the stories on both BR and TDKR are far more ambitious than their predecessors.
If anything makes Batman and TDK superior, it would be their character work more than their stories, IMO. |
