He's not really sympathetic anymore, that's the only real change. Now he's just as nuts as everybody else.

I voted for Killer Croc, with a cameo or a minor role from Man Bat. Give the film a bit of a Horror/Thriller feel to it

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
It would need to be a villain that helps set the tone. Killer Croc or Man Bat (or Clayface) set the tone that Batman lives in a world where men can be mutants, a scientist can mutate himself into a half bat half human creature. Or an actor can be turned into a walking clay monster. Mr. Freeze sets the tone that science fiction, like Clayface or Man Bat, is possible but in a more sci fi way rather than mutations. While Court of Owls doesn't say those things aren't possible, it does set up that Batman fights more human characters at his level (but not only humans at his level). If Batman fights a villain like the Riddler who is human and more cerebral and less fighting it might seem more like Nolan's Batman movies, which maybe is the direction they want. More down to Earth and realistic. You could get the same with the Owls, but heighten the action to more comic book levels if thats what they want. Characters like Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Penguin, Joker, Bane, Scarecrow, have been done. Some, twice, but they may want characters not used yet. What about mixing Prometheus and Hush? Sort of set Hush up as the anti Batman? Maybe set up the Hush story, but mix in the Prometheus stuff to show that he is just as dangerous as Batman? Like Batman he has a contingency plans for everything. And knows everyone's weaknesses. Mixing Prometheus/Hush/Court of Owls and add in the Dick Grayson origin story? I think Man Bat would be unique. Never in a Batman film have we had Batmn need to worry about a "copycat" before. I think Man Bat would be an interesting choice, and break away from the realism if the next set of films wishes to go into the more non-realism route.

It would be interesting. Batman wishes to scare his enemies. Make them think he is more than a man. "Is he a man? a super being? an alien like in Metropolis? a demon? a monster?"
And then this air of mystery and danger and evil he uses sort of back fires when a real Bat Monster shows up. |

Yea that is definitely a pretty cool way to deal with Man Bat. I'd be against any beastly sort of character but if they really played up that aspect it could really be something brilliant

That's basically exactly what the animated series did in the first episode aired, "On Leather Wings", albeit on a smaller scale.

Mr. Freeze, because hes my favorite and I'm biased.
![]() Although the "horror" idea with Man-Bat and Killer Croc sounds very interesting.

Riddler for me, not because he's my favorite villain, but I think he'd be the obvious choice. Would love to see a different take on the character.

I find Man-Bat incredibly cheesy and unoriginal. If they follow up Nolans movies with a character like that, just to seperate it from the "realism" then that's a dumb decision. The franchise will be stuck again.
Do you guys think a general audience member would respond without laughing out loud and going "Haha what? Who's that? sounds silly.." if they asked who the villain was for the new movie and we respond with "It's Man-Bat!" or "Killer Croc!". It even sounds ridiculous. And no i am not some fantasy hater. Mr. Freeze is a must for me. It's just the whole monster thing is something they need to build on, NOT give to the audience right away in the first rebooted film. And those characters i mentioned like Man-Bat or Killer Croc, well they're better off as side characters. Not carrying a whole Batman movie. |

Mr. Freeze should just be an all round depressing character.
I think a neat idea would be to have Freeze walk around and recite creepy poetry about the cold and death.

Man Bat is lame. I mean he's ok for TAS but never for a movie. Next villain should be the riddler. Second should be joker and mr freeze. Third should be hugo strange, joker and Quinn.

It seems like a good thread to share this. You know, I'll never see it on the big screen. But how awesome it would be to see Bat-Mite on a feature film. Having watched Batman: The Brave and the Bold, I must say I was impressed by this character. He is basically the ultimate fanboy with the power to do whatever he pleases with his favorite character. It makes for a great villian in the vein of Syndrome in The Incredibles. It wont work in live action, but how about a DTV in the vein of Brave and the Bold, that pits Batman against every major villian he has in his rogue gallery, all because Bat-Mite wants to have some epic fun.
Something along these lines. Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Like a love letter to the Silver Age of Batman, with a twist. It will never happen, even on DTV. But boy, it was fun to see Bat-Mite on all those episodes.

I think Riddler will be the first. Joker should already exist and be referenced throughout the next trilogy. Have him appear with Harley in the 3rd as the villain pulling the strings of the plot, but in terms of "screentime" he wont be the main villain. Freeze would be. As for the film in between? Hugo Strange sounds about right. Penguin would serve as the "scarecrow" of the trilogy...in a recurring role but never the headlining villain. I think a lot of the freak mob bosses should appear as minor side characters within the city. Black Mask, Penguin, Ventriloquist/Scarface. While the "monsters" a/k/a Croc & Clayface (a man-bat reference would be fine but i wouldnt show it) should be side roles inside Arkham Asylum. Controlled by Strange. What I really want to see in the next series is Batman strolling down the halls of arkham and all the villains he past. You know everyone just comes up to their window and some say something to him some don't. Kind of like in BTAS

That's my wish for the reboot. At one point i wanted to see TDKR have a scene like that like right after his return. A night after or something, just Bats visiting Arkham in secret, making sure everybody was locked down properly and it was running smoothly. I would have killed for a scene like that.

Film #1: Hugo Strange - I think an adaptation of Monster Men would work well. Have Strange experiment on insane folk to build an 'army'
Film #2: Penguin/Riddler - Penguin (UK mobster) is trying to take over the undergrounds. Enter the Riddler, his brother was killed back in Northern Ireland by the Penguin. Full out war between Penguin and Riddler Film #3: Joker - Escape from the Asylum and causing havoc (as always) |

I actually have been thinking (and in some cases writing) my ideas for the next Batman series both in tv and movies.
For the next movies. I see three movies that are connected much like Nolan's but this time you know who the main supervillain for the trilogy will be by the end of the first movie and the other two will be his plan unfolding. Movie number 1: The Riddles That Bind. Edward Nygma, who's a detective, has a career-making bust of a crime family interuppted by Batman. He goes crazy and terrorizes the city to prove how inferior Batman is to him. He sets up a series of riddles that lead him to potential victims, if Batman doesn't save them in time they're killed...by Deadshot! At the end of the first movie we hear a voicemail message from a friend of Bruce's who's coming to town.....it's Tommy Elliot. Movie Number 2: The Fire That Burns. Villain double-feature. Batman must solve a serious of odd fires only to find out that they're being caused by Firefly. Later on he discovers that they're being robbed before they're torched. Culprit? Ragdoll (look him up!). But everything changes when a young vigilante named Nightwing comes to town and wants Firefly's head on a stick! At the end of the movie we see Tommy Elliot meeting Nygma, he offers him a job. Nygma accepts. Movie Number 3: The Silence That Kills. Elliot's plan comes to a head as he teams up with crime lord Black Mask to take over Gotham! Black Mask brings the muscle, Elliot brings the specialists (aka all the villains from the past two movies) and only Batman, Nightwing, and a new hero named Robin can stop them! So yeah that's my idea. |

Freeze deserves redemption.
Penguin, Clayface, Hugo Strange, and Killer Croc would be great. Poison Ivy and Riddler would be fine too. Man-Bat sounds amazing but I don't know how likely thatd be. |

For those who have a problem with making Batman into a horror hero. Remember ...BATman. Nolan among others put too much on the man and not the BAT. Let's put the BAT back in batman.

I also must say the Vampire Monk should be the villain. With Christopher Lee playing the old version. In my second movie Killer Croc and a third with Hard arc.
