James Franco as Iron Man is a sweet idea. Someone suggested him for Batman and i hated that idea but him as Iron Man actually makes sense

Franco's definitely an interesting choice. He would bring something new to the character which is important for the post RDJ era when it happens. He could absolutely play irrational and unbalanced genius which is what makes Tony so interesting.

Whatever they do, I won´t be watching. 20+ years shall pass before I am interested in a remake featuring another actor.

But they have mentioned they werent going to outright remake it but recast and keep moving forward James Bond style. Although I dont know what kind of effect that has on Avengers

-_- there will always be IM1-3... why not enjoy the future of IM as well? |

I think they should make a CGI version of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and have Andy Serkis perform him.
So the character would be recasted, BUT look exactly the same in the Cinematic Universe. Win-Win.

If RDJ decides he doesnt want to do it anymore, yeah the top three choices seem to be:
James Franco ![]() Colin Farrell Matt Bomer

i don't feel as if Colin Farrell can do vulnerability. i think it's essential to the character of Tony Stark because, otherwise, he's kind of a cocky *********.

I agree thats an important trait for Stark. But that got me thinking. How about Colin Farrell in Phone Booth? Not a great movie, but decent and I think it shows what you're looking for. That or SWAT maybe. Same deal.

Somehow I doubt that's what the real Joss Whedon would think. |
