It really is great. I mean nothing beats the classic, but it's crazy that this suit is actually closer to the original than the New 52 suit. I feel my feelings about it could change if the movie is no good though...

I was hoping the manips thread would blow up after the trailer, but instead their still photoshopping Cavill's head onto Reeves body haha.

Which is fine. I rather see for myself and judge for myself personally. Also, I take more stock in outside sources who are not involved. There was many a quote praising Superman Returns as well. Same with movies like Watchmen and Green Lantern. Again, not saying Man Of Steel are comparable to those films, but I'm not going to get all that excited about Crowe gushing over it.

I think the WORST recent example at least comic book wise was Green Lantern...
Geoff Johns gushed over that in EVERY interview where he was asked about it. And i mean gushed.
Every time he said how great, amazing etc etc etc it is...
then it came out and it was crap.
Funny enough no one has called him on it

Lost ALOT of respect for that guy over that

Yep. And 12 months before it's release there was talk about how WB was so happy with the early footage of GL that they were already green-lighting and fast-tracking 2 sequels for it.

Since then I've never really taken what a studio or anyone involved says about their coming film seriously.

Yeah once the first trailer came out, I can't recall reading anything positive about it leading up to release (except from Geoff Johns!). People pretty much called it as bomb just from that trailer.

That said I'm completely buying into all the hype for MOS. I mean I can judge the footage for myself and it looks amazing.

The guy writing JLA right now? Compared to the heights that book as seen I can safely say I'm not a fan.

Oh god JL at the moment is such a poor title. Morrison's JLA in the 90s runs laps around it.

I just don't get the love for Geoff.
I mean outside of making GL relevant by way of executive power(the book itself is so strange), all his foray's into live action have seemingly be lame.

If the GL movie was the first and only comic book movie than I can see where he's coming from. That's how his books work imo.

He supposedly wrote a good take on Superman...I just don't see it.

Tough to really care all that much if a studio is pimping their film and drooling over it. Even more so than the actors or directors.

Whether or not it starts with it, I'm hopeful we'll see/hear more of Jor-El than we have already (which amounts to, officially, some dialogue and one shot). I'm really wanting to see some images from the Krypton portion(s) of the film.
